ELKHART COUNTY GOVERNMENTAL POSITION VACANCY NOTICE

VOTER REGISTRATION SPECIALIST

DEPARTMENT:                           Clerk

HIRING RATE:                             $22.12-$24.58/hour based on education and position related experience.  Longevity pay after 3 years.

POSITION TO BE FILLED:           ASAP

TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS:          None

JOB SUMMARY:
Responsible for processing and maintaining registration records and assisting with the voting process.

JOB REQUIREMENTS:
    High school diploma or GED, with one year of experience working in election process 
    Must be a U.S. Citizen, a resident of Elkhart County and a Registered Voter
    Working knowledge of Federal code, Indiana election rules/regulations, and SVRS, with the ability to process new registrations, maintain related records, coordinate voting locations, and refer to election manuals
    Excellent organizational, communication skills and a sound knowledge of office procedures and practices
    Must be able to lift/carry 40+pounds
    Overtime and weekend work mandatory periodically throughout year
