Kent Island Resort is seeking a Housekeeping Manager to join our team of hospitality professionals. As part of the management group, our Housekeeping Manager leads by example, offering an exceptional experience for our guests by maintaining the inner beauty of our unique, historic property. Working in partnership with the General Manager and Facilities Operations staff, our HM ensures the housekeeping team operates at a consistently elevated level, maintaining the reputation of a VIVAMEE Hospitality resort. Our ideal candidate has supervisory experience in a hotel housekeeping setting and a desire to advance and grow within the VIVAMEE organization.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Promote and portray VIVĂ‚MEE values in every guest communication and team collaboration.
  • Know, understand, and adhere to company-established policies and procedures.
  • Provide leadership and direction for housekeeping and laundry staff.
  • Inspect guest rooms, public areas, and back of the house for cleanliness.
  • Screen job applicants, hire, and train new employees.
  • Establish standards and procedures for housekeeping staff.
  • Create staff schedules, work assignments, and monitor activities to maintain company productivity & professionalism.
  • Perform cleaning duties in cases of emergency or staff shortage.
  • Resolve complaints concerning housekeeping service and respond to guests in a friendly & timely manner.
  • Oversee inventory supply levels, anticipate and order supplies when necessary.
  • Clean and maintain rooms, hallways, lobbies, restrooms, elevators, and other areas to meet VIVAMEE Hospitality and health standards.
  • Stock and organize storage areas and carts.
  • Replenish supplies in rooms and restrooms.
  • Assist with occasional laundry tasks.
  • Report maintenance issues and work orders to the Facilities Operator.
  • Disinfect equipment and supplies following hotel guidelines.
  • Observe security measures and report any damage, theft, or found items.
  • Inspect rooms for pests and report findings promptly.
  • Maintain professional and effective communication with supervisors and colleagues.
  • Maintain a positive and friendly attitude towards guests at all times.
  • Follow all department, hotel, and management company policies, procedures, and standards diligently.
  • Perform additional duties as directed by management.

Qualified Candidates Must Have:

  • Must be 21 years of age.
  • Minimum of 6 months’ experience in the hospitality/cleaning field required.
  • Minimum of 6 months of supervisory experience in the hospitality field required.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Exceptional problem-solving and skills.
  • Moderate technical skills; experience with Microsoft Office Suite and hospitality POS systems.
  • Basic office equipment familiarity.
  • Ability to lift and move objects weighing up to 50 pounds.
  • Ability to consistently and effectively use abdominal and lower back muscles without fatigue.
  • Must be capable of standing for extended periods.
  • Demonstrate organizational skills and reliability.
  • Ability to manage a diverse staff.
  • Ability to work occasional nights & weekends.
  • Adaptable to changing schedules and priorities, motivated to work autonomously.
  • Meticulous attention to detail.
