Department Overview

The Materials Distribution Operations (MDO) organization and its 370 employees are responsible for the day-to-day operation and execution of PG&E's materials distribution network throughout its 70,000 square mile service territory.  Through its four materials distribution centers and over 100 field locations, MDO manages a $900 million inventory and $560 million in annual goods issues.  MDO's management and delivery of materials and supplies is critical to PG&E's ability to provide safe and reliable electric and gas service.

Position Summary

Responsible for overseeing PG&E's MDO Field Services material inventory and resources in the Yosemite and Fresno Divisions. Manages assigned operation(s) to meet or exceed client requirements while controlling costs. Ensures compliance with regulatory requirements and actively manages operations in accordance with PG&E's Corporate values. Safeguards company assets and ensures that all tasks are performed Safely and responsibly. 

This position is hybrid, working from your remote office and your assigned work location based on business need. The assigned work location will be within the PG&E Service Territory (Yosemite, Fresno) Central Valley.

PG&E is providing the salary range that the company in good faith believes it might pay for this position at the time of the job posting. This compensation range is specific to the locality of the job. The actual salary paid to an individual will be based on multiple factors, including, but not limited to, specific skills, education, licenses or certifications, experience, market value, geographic location, and internal equity. Although we estimate the successful candidate hired into this role will be placed between the entry point and the middle of the range, the decision will be made on a case-by-case basis related to these factors.

This job is also eligible to participate in PG&E's discretionary incentive compensation programs.

A reasonable salary range is:

Bay Area Minimum: $102,000.00
Bay Area Maximum: $162,000.00

OR

California Minimum: $97,000.00

California Maximum: $154,000.00

Job Responsibilities

  • MDO Field Services manages facilities, personnel, equipment, and Inventories to ensure that functional area requirements are met or exceeded, and financial goals are achieved. 
  • Maintains compliance with all regulatory requirements and ensures that all facilities and equipment are maintained in safe conditions and that all employees work safely. 
  • Manage supply chain workflows and processes to identify opportunities for improvements and develops/implements corrective action plans as required. 
  • Actively works to develop and maintain strong working relationships with functional areas.
  •  Recommends capital expenditures and provides input into annual capital spend and budgeting process.
  • Support enterprise-wide efforts during emergency situations (i.e. storms, natural disasters, etc.), including working with warehouse distribution and suppliers on expediting materials.
  • Operate within PCC budget by actively monitoring labor and material costs. Utilize LEAN operating models to achieve labor and material cost targets.
  •  Establish, document, and track performance metrics, including identifying corrective action plans to meet departmental goals. Provide regular status updates to senior management and other reporting groups.

Qualifications

Minimum:

  • High School or GED-General Educational Development-GED Diploma
  • Experience in logistics, or related, 4 years
  •  

Desired:

  • Experience leading union represented personnel.
  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, construction management, supply chain management, business, or other related field
  • Knowledge of Warehouse Management Systems (WMS)
  • Knowledge of ERP systems (Preferred: SAP)
  • Knowledge of process improvement disciplines (TQM, Lean, LSS)
  • Knowledge of Root Cause Analysis (RCA)
  • Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment
