What's the role?

The Senior Account Manager (KAM) National Retail - Hunting & Nature will be responsible to manage the ZEISS Hunting & Nature sales and retail distribution efforts associated with an assigned account listing, to include National Retailers Bass Pro Shops / Cabela's, Sportsman's Warehouse, Scheels, Fleet Farm, Academy, Costco, and others.

Product Assortment

  • Planning and recommendations.

  • Set-up within each account's internal system.

  • Ensuring a complete eCommerce / dropship assortment.

Merchandising

  • Plan-o-gram or POS placement.

  • Physical and Digital asset delivery and implementation.

Promotional and Event Planning

  • Pre-planning / customer specific.


Training

  • Retail store training plan and execution.

  • Integration of digital training platforms like Expert Voice.

  • Spiff and loyalty program execution.

  • Scheduled Service Calls.

  • Teams, phone, e-mail.

  • In person visitation frequency.

  • Inventory Management POS Reporting.

  • Supply-chain management (ideal on-hand v. turn ratio).

  • When possible achieving Vendor Managed Inventory responsibility.

Seasonal Transition Management

  • Anticipating portfolio changes, planning accordingly.

Building, maintaining, and executing a comprehensive by-account sales plan

  • Setting clear and measurable business goals for each account.

  • Developing actionable initiatives designed to accomplish these specific goals.

  • Communicating the required resources (tools, people, budget) required to drive success.

  • And managing the accountability thereof within a defined calendar

  • Identify account challenges and propose relevant solutions to overcome challenges.

  • Manage sales programs.

  • Assist internal AR to ensure timely payment for your accounts.

Do you qualify?

  • A deep level of the Shooting Sports Industry and shooting knowledge is mandatory.

  • Rifles: Strong understanding of various types and their intended applications.

  • Ammunition, ballistics and reloading understanding.

  • Optic knowledge (highly preferred).

  • Seasoned direct-sales experience working within the defined account base (Bass, Scheels, etc.).

  • Strategic account planning for maximizing each account.

  • Goal setting, forecasting, support planning and execution.

  • Strong ability to manage relationships via in-person meetings, Teams calls, and via email.

  • Seasoned travel experience.

  • Understanding of the management structure and internal processes of these customers (highly preferred).

  • Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint) experience.

  • SalesForce CRM (not required but preferred).

  • SAP (not required but preferred).

The annual pay range for this position is $80,000 - $100,000

The pay offered for this role may be influenced by factors such as job location, scope of role, qualifications, education, experience, & complexity/specialization/scarcity of talent.
