Corporate Restructuring Mid-Level Associate Attorney
Location: New York, NY
Compensation: $310,000 – $390,000 base salary (commensurate with experience)

Direct Counsel is seeking a Corporate Restructuring Mid-Level Associate Attorney to join a top-tier national law firm’s Financial Restructuring practice in its New York office.

The ideal candidate will have at least four years of experience handling sophisticated restructuring matters, including out-of-court restructurings and workouts as well as complex Chapter 11 business reorganizations, representing both debtors and lenders.

Key Responsibilities Include:

  • Representing institutional and private credit lenders and large public and private companies in in-court and out-of-court restructuring matters

  • Negotiating and drafting loan and credit documents

  • Exercising lender remedies and drafting core restructuring documents and pleadings, including:

    • Plans of reorganization

    • Restructuring support agreements

    • First-day motions

    • Other Chapter 11 filings

  • Collaborating with partners and clients on complex financial restructuring matters

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 4 years of relevant restructuring experience

  • Meaningful experience with Chapter 11 matters, including debtor and lender-side representations

  • Strong organizational, analytical, writing, and verbal communication skills

  • Excellent academic credentials

  • Admission to the New York Bar (required)
