The Behavioral Health Corporate Director is responsible for the direction and administration of the Department of Behavioral Health. Plans, assesses, implements and maintains department services that promote positive outcomes. Ensures that services are provided in accordance with professional practice standards, agency policies and procedures, and applicable local, state and federal regulations. Supports the provision of quality health services by

maintaining positive working relationships with staff, physicians, hospital system departments and/or community agencies/services.

Essential Duties

  • Demonstrate organizational mission and values in interactions with patients, families, and healthcare team members
  • Provide leadership in guiding teams toward current and future organizational goals
  • Oversee operational planning and departmental goal achievement
  • Prepare annual reports and contribute to departmental budget development and oversight
  • Support and counsel patients and families regarding psychosocial needs and concerns
  • Ensure compliance with all applicable local, state, and federal regulations and healthcare accreditation standards
  • Communicate clearly and consistently with staff and team members, providing direction as needed
  • Manage interpersonal relationships effectively and demonstrate self-awareness in leadership practice
  • Monitor and support achievement of budgetary and cost-control objectives, evaluating financial outcomes
  • Conduct and document psychosocial assessments appropriate to patient age and diagnosis in accordance with standards
  • Complete and maintain required treatment plan documentation for patients
  • Analyze problems and evaluate alternatives to support effective decision-making
  • Exercise appropriate judgment and seek guidance when needed
  • Maintain open communication with supervisors regarding progress, issues, and outcomes
  • Produce clear, concise, and well-organized written documentation
  • Demonstrate effective oral communication skills
  • Prioritize and manage factors critical to achieving outcomes and goals
  • Plan, organize, and manage workload efficiently
  • Respond to customer concerns promptly and professionally
  • Foster a respectful and professional environment through courteous communication
  • Maintain confidentiality and protect privacy of sensitive information
  • Collaborate effectively with interdisciplinary healthcare team members

Requirements

Education: Masters Degree and NJ-LCSW or NJ-RN License required

Experience: 5+ years relevant experience, supervisory experience

Skills: Ability to communicate clearly in English, both orally and in writing. Knowledge of Medicare/Medicaid Regulations; community resources Ability to lead and manage a team. Successfully completes initial competency verification for specialty area. Ability to handle confidential information.
