Job Description

A successful Customer Service Representative must consistently demonstrate the company's Mission and Values.  Must have good oral and written communication skills in order to effectively interact with customers, drivers and other team members in person and on the telephone. They must be customer service-oriented as well as team-oriented and must have good organizational skills. A successful Customer Service Representative must be able to effectively manage multiple tasks simultaneously, and deal with a constantly changing atmosphere. Finally, they must have a strong mindset for growth, as we are continuously striving to expand business. The Customer Service Representative will be responsible for the following geographic area in the United States:

  • Northern territories: WI, IL, IN, MI, OH, WV, PA, NJ, NY, and New England

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Maintaining and developing business opportunities with the company's current customer base.
  • Servicing customer's freight and shipment needs on a daily basis.
  • Strategically planning customer's freight to ensure on-time service while also balancing our driver's needs.
  • Cultivating new business opportunities with prospective customers and freight brokers.
  • Updating and maintaining various customer TMS portals.
  • The ability to book and plan freight for 12 - 25 drivers per day.
Qualifications
  • Existing or prior proven experience in a corporate customer service role (Required)
  • Supply Chain or logistics experience (Preferred)
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills (Highly desired)
  • Proven experience and technical understanding of Microsoft Office Suite including MS Excel, MS Word, MS Teams, MS Outlook
  • Experience utilizing McLeod Software Solutions
  • A positive attitude and willing to collaborate in a TEAM environment
  • A strong sense of urgency 

Education:

  • A four year college degree from an accredited college or university
  • 1-3 years experience in the field
  • Background in Marketing, Operations, Sales and Supply Chain Management***
