Position Summary

The AVP Senior Market Manager is responsible for leading branch performance by driving business development, sales growth, customer experience, and operational excellence within the assigned market. This role develops and strengthens customer relationships through proactive financial conversations, consultative sales, and the delivery of appropriate banking products and services. The AVP Senior Market Manager partners with business and community leaders to expand market presence, grow deposits and loans, and identify new business opportunities. In addition to achieving branch and Bank goals, the AVP Senior Market Manager provides strong leadership and coaching to branch team members, fostering a culture of accountability, collaboration, and exceptional customer service. This position oversees all branch operations, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements, effective risk management, and adherence to Bank policies and procedures. Through strategic planning, team development, and community engagement, the AVP Senior Market Manager plays a key role in advancing the Bank’s growth, profitability, and commitment to delivering a trusted customer experience.

Responsibilities and Accountabilities

  • Implements ongoing business development efforts that promote the Bank’s products and services, increase core deposits, and drive loan growth across the market.
  • Mentors and coaches Market Managers in sales and business development as needed.
  • Guides Retail Branch teams in carrying out specialized functions as assigned by leadership.
  • Collaborates with peer Market Managers to plan and execute branch sales initiatives, including Profit Magnifier cross-sell efforts and marketing-coordinated campaigns.
  • Actively participates in Market Manager meetings, strategic bank initiatives, and product and service development efforts.
  • Leads the branch in delivering an exceptional customer experience by identifying customer financial goals, providing solutions-based guidance, executing sales plans, and ensuring consistent follow-up. Partners in the development and execution of branch marketing and growth initiatives.
  • Promotes adoption of the Bank's digital and mobile banking technologies by educating customers and coaching staff to lead by example in technology usage.
  • Establishes branch goals and objectives in partnership with the Retail Branch Administrator, monitors performance, prepares activity reports, and manages the branch budget.
  • Coaches and develops branch leadership and team members to ensure operational excellence, employee engagement, and a customer experience aligned with the Bank's Built on Trust model.
  • Drives business development through outbound calling, community engagement, relationship building, and networking to acquire new customers, deepen existing relationships, and promote Bank products and services.
  • Oversees all branch operations, including risk management, regulatory compliance, security, and operational controls. Ensures adherence to policies and procedures while maintaining efficient branch, vault, ATM, and cash operations.
  • Maintains strong business and financial acumen, including knowledge of business growth strategies, organizational structures, cash flow management, and financial statement analysis.
  • Represents the Bank within the community to strengthen relationships, generate business opportunities, and demonstrate the Bank's commitment to local organizations and initiatives.
  • Fosters a collaborative, inclusive, and high-performing team environment through ongoing coaching, professional development, and talent growth initiatives.
  • Develops and executes an annual branch business plan that incorporates sales strategies, employee development, product knowledge training, coaching, and business development goals.

  • Proven success in business development, prospecting, and strengthening relationships with new and existing customers within the local market.
  • Strong relationship management skills with the ability to build partnerships across business lines and deliver customer-focused financial solutions.
  • Exceptional leadership, coaching, and employee development skills, with a track record of building high-performing teams.
  • Thorough knowledge of banking regulations, compliance requirements, and risk management practices.
  • Strong sales, business development, and consultative relationship-building abilities.
  • Excellent analytical, organizational, problem-solving, and customer service skills.
  • Outstanding verbal, written, presentation, and interpersonal communication skills, with the ability to effectively engage individuals at all levels both internally and externally.
  • Professional presence with the ability to positively represent the Bank within the organization and the community.

Education/Training/Experience

  • Associate’s degree or equivalent plus specialized coursework and training
  • Seven years of progressive banking experience with demonstrated business development expertise
  • Registered Mortgage Loan Originator (MLO) with the Nationwide Mortgage Licensing System & Registry (NMLS) required
  • Notary Public
  • Proficient with MS Office Products
  • Ability to use office equipment (fax, copier, computer and cell)

INDEPENDENT ACTION

Performs work independently within scope of established guidelines and practices. Consults with Manager where clarification or exception to Bank policy may be required.
