Job Title

Clerical Support

Requirements / Qualifications

Perform a variety of clerical support duties for an assigned school, department or program according to several specific routines and broadly defined policies and procedures. Knowledge of modern office practices, procedures and equipment, record keeping techniques, correct English usage, grammar, spelling, punctuation and vocabulary, reading and writing communication skills, basic math, interpersonal skills using tact, patience and courtesy, operation of a computer and assigned software. Ability to maintain accurate records and prepare reports, understand and follow oral and written directions, learn to operate a computer terminal, establish and maintain cooperative and effective working relationships with others, type at 45 words net per minute from clear copy, work confidentially with discretion, make arithmetic calculations quickly and accurately, operate a wide variety of office equipment, meet schedules and time lines, plan and organize work, communicate effectively both orally and in writing. Any combination equivalent to high school diploma or equivalent and responsible clerical experience.

The following must be attached to application on or before the deadline:

  • High School Diploma or Equivalent OR Associate's Degree OR Bachelor's Degree OR Higher Education Degree
  • Typing Certificate for 45 words net per minute from clear copy.

Attach to application per district standard: current typing certificate (within last 6 months) for 45 NWPM (5-minute test with 5 or less errors). Original typing certificate must be verified. Internet certificates are not acceptable. A practical job skills test may be administered as part of the interview process. If selected for the position, out-of-district applicants must be T.B tested and fingerprinted.
