Description
MA:
  • Interviews patients, measures vital signs, such as pulse rate, temperature, blood pressure, weight and height, and records information on patient's charts.
  • Rooms patients, obtains clinical information such as medication list, patient concerns, questions and height and weight.
  • Maintains skill level required to care for routine patients.
  • Prepares patient for and assists with examinations.
  • Maintains records of vital statistics and other pertinent data of patient. Conducts specified testing or calls medical facility or department to schedule patients for tests.
  • Physical examination, family, social, and past medical history as well as document procedures, lab results, dictated radiographic impressions made by the supervising physician and any other information pertaining to the patient's encounter.
  • Acts a scribe for the provider when requested. Perform clinical documentation in EHR system. Ensure that all clinical data, lab, or other test results, as well as the interpretation of the results by the physician, are recorded accurately in the medical record.
  • Document procedures, consults, and discussions.
  • Makes phone calls to patients regarding test results or medication changes.
  • Administers injections and medications, dresses wound and incisions, performs blood draws
  • Anticipates patient needs and responds to patient requests promptly.
  • Assists with scheduling of patient appointments, answering incoming calls, typing and filing correspondence, ordering and maintaining supplies, arranging for equipment maintenance, recording of incoming payments and distributing billing as required.
  • Assists with special assignments as necessary.

LPN:
  • Interviews patients, measures vital signs, such as pulse rate, temperature, blood pressure, weight and height, and records information on patient's charts.
  • Makes phone calls to patients regarding test results or medication changes.
  • Administers injections and medications, dresses wounds and incisions.
  • Rooms patients, obtains clinical information such as medication list, patient concerns, questions and height and weight.
  • Maintains skill level required to care for routine patients.
  • Anticipates patient needs and responds to patient requests promptly.
  • Able to successfully perform blood draws.
  • Able to enter information in EMR.
  • HIPAA compliance, facility compliance.
  • Assists with scheduling of patient appointments.
  • Composes and types routine correspondence.
  • Copy and file correspondence as needed.
  • Assists with special assignments as necessary.
  • Is organized and professional.
  • Takes care of refilling prescriptions for patients by determining what pharmacy the patient uses, determining the formulary medication, getting approval from Provider and notifying Pharmacy.
  • Takes care of the monthly inventory for Vaccinations and Medications.

Requirements
MA:
  • High School graduate or equivalent required.
  • Current Certification as a Medical Assistant required upon hire or obtained within 18 months from date of hire.
  • Previous experience in the same or similar position preferred.
  • BLS Certification Required

LPN:
  • Must be currently licensed to practice as a LPN or obtain within 60 Days in the State of Colorado.
  • One year's relevant experience preferred.
  • BLS required.
  • IV Certification required upon hire or within one (1) year of employment.
