JOB DESCRIPTION

Our client is looking for a Legal Administrative Assistant to join the firm who is a team player but can work independently. This person should have an outgoing personality and positive “can do” attitude, has to be able to handle work from multiple attorneys at the same time. Someone who has a strong work ethic and takes the initiative to move from task to task proactively instead of waiting for instructions. Ability to maintain confidentiality and ethical standards is of the utmost importance. Predictable attendance is mandatory.



Legal Assistant’s tasks

  • Mail out documents
  • Running documents to Courts/ Law Firms
  • Entering time in CARET
  • Filing documents in courts
  • Of-Counsel Assistance – Dictation, transcription of documents/ pleadings, filing documents, administrative help, etc.
  • Administrative Work- Large Print jobs, note taking, scanning/ copying, organizing documents, course help, etc.
  • Legal Assistance- Review of documents, legal research, pleading/ document drafting, binder creation, exhibit organization, etc.
  • Back up to paralegal – should know how to file in different courts
  • Billing Assistance- Accounts Receivable o Inputting Cost/ Operating Checks into CARET Legal
  • Organize backups
  • Distribution of snacks and drinks in the Break Room
  • Retrieving mail
  • Answering the phones
  • File intake and processing in the File Room
  • Ordering supplies
  • Keeping copy room fully supplied
