What is a copy room assistant?

Copy Room Assistants are support staff responsible for operating photocopying equipment, managing print requests, and maintaining supplies in an organization's copy room. They ensure that documents are copied, collated, and distributed efficiently and may also handle basic troubleshooting of machines. Their role supports office productivity by ensuring that print and copy needs are met promptly and accurately.

To thrive as a Copy Room Assistant, you need strong organizational abilities, attention to detail, and basic understanding of office equipment, typically supported by a high school diploma or equivalent. Familiarity with photocopiers, scanners, binding machines, and inventory tracking systems is commonly required. Excellent time management, communication, and customer service skills help you efficiently handle requests and support staff needs. These skills ensure smooth document production, prevent errors, and maintain efficient workflow in busy office environments.
