  • The client is seeking native-speaking contractors to perform full linguistic quality assurance on machine-translated cybersecurity awareness training content, ensuring translations read naturally, preserve humor and tone, and meet professional localization standards across multiple target languages.
Job Summary
  • Review existing machine-translated e-learning content string by string, evaluating naturalness, accuracy, and tone against the English source.
  • Mark each string as approved or flagged, categorizing issues by severity (Minor, Moderate, or Major) and providing brief explanatory notes.
  • Assess whether humor, idiomatic expressions, cultural references, and informal register are preserved appropriately for the target audience.
  • Suggest alternative phrasing where translations feel overly formal, lose comedic intent, or include cultural references that do not land naturally in the target language.
  • Complete back-catalog review incrementally across 21 seasons per language, working at a pace of approximately 10 hrs/week with flexible scheduling.
  • Export and submit one CSV review file per season via a browser-based tool, no software installation required.
  • Support ongoing quarterly review of new content releases following back-catalog completion, estimated at 7-15 hours per quarter.
Minimum Requirements:
  • Native speaker of the target language - open positions cover German, Italian, Castilian Spanish (es-ES), and Latin American Spanish (es-419).
  • Business-level English reading proficiency sufficient to compare source strings against existing translations.
  • Strong sensitivity to register, tone, and humor, including ability to identify when a translation is technically correct but loses the comedic or idiomatic intent of the original.
  • Availability for up to 10 hours per week with flexible, self-directed scheduling.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Prior experience in localization review, linguistic QA, or translation post-editing.
