Job description

Part Time Residential Support Staff -Direct Care


The PT Residential Support Staff’s duties and responsibilities include supporting CooperRiis

residents and staff by providing coverage for regular, direct-care positions. PT staff support

residents’ recovery by building authentic, professional relationships, and helping

residents restore a sense of engagement, productivity, and contribution. PT residential support staff will work to

maintain a safe and supportive therapeutic environment, assisting with planned activities,

supportive check-ins, and additional coverage needs. The PT Support Staff’s primary task is to

ensure the fulfillment of CooperRiis’ mission by assisting residents in meeting the goals defined

in their individual Recovery Plan.


Location: Mill Spring ,NC


Schedule: Sunday 8am - 6 pm, Mon - Tues 4 pm - 10 pm

Benefits:

Salary: $17.00 per hour and increases based on experience

Responsibilities:

      • Basic foundation of mental health knowledge and progressive development of tools and

        skills for supporting individual residents in their recovery, within the scope of the role.

        • Skilled in building rapport and professional relationships with residents; demonstrates

        good judgement and professional boundaries.

        • Person-centered and proactive in approach; seeks to understand each resident’s goals

        and needs.

        • Ability to create structure and effectively coach residents in communication skills and

        activities of daily living.

        • Ability to effectively problem-solve, work through conflict, identify safety risks, and

        manage crises.

        • Ability to work with an integrative recovery team, understanding the role of each

        member.

        • Effective organizational skills, time management, attention to detail, and proficiency with

        technological systems and tools required for the position.


Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent relevant experience working with individuals whose lives are impeded by mental illness
  • 21 years or older with a valid driver’s license and clean driving record to be on organization’s auto insurance
