Job description

HHM Talent is assisting a client in their search for a Controller. Our client is in the commercial real estate and telecom construction business and is looking for someone that can handle the companies financials along with the reporting of project costs.

This is an onsite position in Chattanooga, TN.

This is a small, tight knit company that is growing in the telecommunications business. Executive leadership has 20+ years in large telecom and is growing year over year. 


Key Responsibilities
  • Oversee all financial operations related to assets development, construction, carrier leasing, and longterm asset management.

  • Ensure accurate project accounting, lease revenue reporting, coordinate payroll (through ADP), compliance with ground leases, produce GAAPcompliant monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements, coordinate audits, tax filings, and telecomrelated regulatory reporting and strong financial controls across a growing asset portfolio.

  • Track all development costs, construction draws, permitting fees, and capitalized expenditures for each tower site.

  • Oversee escalations, amendments, and revenue recognition for carrier agreements.

  • Ensure accurate accounting for ground leases, easements, renewals, and rent escalations.

  • Monitor asset construction budgets, vendor invoices, retainage, and change orders.

  • Capitalize assets, track depreciation, and maintain asset registers.

  • Lead monthly and annual budgets and longterm forecasts for tower revenue, capex, and cash flow.

  • Manage cash needs for development cycles, construction funding, and debt service.

  • Prepare financial packages, project performance updates.

  • Maintain controls over lease billing, vendor payments, and project approvals.

  • Work with outside services to ensure corporate resolutions, insurance and business licenses are up to date.

  • Experience with Quickbooks Desktop and Online

  • Experience with ADP for Payroll and HR

  • Strong with Excel, financial reporting
