Position Summary

The Controller is responsible for overseeing all accounting and financial operations of Head Steel Service, including QuickBooks, bookkeeping, accounts payable/receivable, and payroll support. This position ensures accurate financial reporting, manages cash flow, maintains internal controls, supervises accounting staff, supports strategic decision-making, and provides financial insight to drive company growth. This role would be a great growth opportunity for an accounting professional ready to step into a Controller position!

Primary Responsibilities Financial Management
  • Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
  • Maintain the general ledger and chart of accounts.
  • Oversee accounts payable and accounts receivable.
  • Manage payroll processing and payroll tax compliance.
  • Monitor company cash flow and working capital.
  • Reconcile all bank and credit card accounts.
  • Manage fixed assets and depreciation schedules.
Job Cost Accounting
  • Monitor job costs and project profitability.
  • Analyze labor, material, subcontractor, and overhead costs.
  • Compare estimated versus actual project costs.
