Controller

Location: Oak Creek, WI

Compensation: $120,000–$150,000 + Bonus

Type: Full-time; permanent



We are partnering with a growing medical device manufacturer in Oak Creek, WI, to identify a Controller to lead the accounting function and serve as a key financial partner. This is an opportunity to step into a highly visible role and build out a team.


The ideal candidate will bring a strong combination of technical accounting, financial leadership, and manufacturing experience, along with the ability to improve processes and build a strong finance team.


Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and oversee the company's accounting and finance function
  • Own and improve the month-end and financial close process
  • Oversee financial reporting, account reconciliations, and variance analysis
  • Lead budgeting and forecasting activities
  • Partner with operations and sales on margin analysis, costing, and profitability
  • Oversee inventory accounting, cycle counts, and obsolete inventory management
  • Strengthen internal controls and support annual audit activities
  • Monitor financial performance against budget and forecast and provide actionable insights to leadership
  • Oversee preparation of financial statements, management reporting, and other required financial reports
  • Lead and develop the accounting team while helping build out the broader finance organization
  • Partner with the President/CEO and leadership team on financial planning and long-term business strategy
  • Identify opportunities to improve financial processes, systems, controls, and reporting capabilities
  • Support costing initiatives and ensure accurate financial information is available to drive profitability


Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
  • 8+ years of progressive accounting and finance experience
  • Previous experience leading or overseeing an accounting/finance team
  • Strong experience with month-end close and financial reporting
  • Experience with budgeting, forecasting, variance analysis, and financial planning
  • Manufacturing experience strongly preferred
  • Experience with cost accounting, standard costing, inventory, and margin analysis preferred
  • Strong analytical, communication, and leadership skills
  • Ability to operate effectively as both a hands-on accounting leader and strategic business partner
