Description

Overview of Role: 

The Technical Writer (Journeyman) develops, formats, and maintains technical documentation and formal contract deliverables for a large-scale Department of Defense network modernization and operations program. Responsibilities include preparing contract data requirement deliverables to government standards, supporting engineering design documentation, developing and maintaining network documentation (such as ports and protocols lists, IP/VLAN plans, and configuration baselines), preparing qualification test reports, and writing standard operating procedures and work instructions. The role further supports ATO package narrative development, manages document version control and submission tracking, and ensures all documentation meets government contractual and formatting requirements. 

Roles and Responsibilities: 

Develops, formats, and maintains technical documentation and formal contract deliverables for a large-scale DoD network modernization and operations program. Prepares contract data requirement deliverables to government format standards; supports formal engineering design documentation including network design packages and technical reports; develops and maintains network documentation such as ports and protocols lists, IP/VLAN plans, and configuration baselines; prepares qualification test reports; writes standard operating procedures and work instructions; supports ATO package narrative development; manages document version control and submission tracking; and ensures all documentation meets government contractual and formatting requirements. 

Educational and Certification Requirement:  

3 to 10 years' experience and a B.A./B.S 

Government technical writing experience; CDRL documentation; Microsoft Office/SharePoint proficiency 

Must have an Active Secret Clearance
