About Us:

Quantum Computing Inc. (QCi) (Nasdaq: QUBT) is an innovative, integrated photonics company that provides accessible and affordable quantum machines to the world today. The Company’s portfolio of core technology and products offer unique capabilities in the areas of high-performance computing, artificial intelligence, cyber security as well as remote sensing applications.

Scope of the Job:

QCi is seeking a Project Engineer to coordinate and execute advanced engineering programs from concept through production. This role serves as the primary interface between customers primarily in the aerospace and space industry and internal engineering, manufacturing, supply chain, and quality teams to ensure projects are delivered on time, within scope, and aligned with customer requirements.

The ideal candidate is a highly organized engineer with excellent communication and project coordination skills who enjoys working with customers and multidisciplinary engineering teams. This position requires an individual who can communicate customer requirements, coordinate engineering activities, track project schedules and deliverables, facilitate phase-gate reviews, and help drive projects to successful completion.

Duties / Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate engineering projects from project kickoff through production and customer delivery.
  • Develop and maintain project schedules, milestones, deliverables, and action item trackers.
  • Track project progress, identify schedule risks and roadblocks, and work with engineering teams to maintain on-time execution.
  • Support proposal development by assisting with project planning, schedule development, and engineering effort estimates for new customer opportunities.
  • Utilize project management tools such as Microsoft Project and Jira to monitor project execution and resource status.
  • Serve as the primary day-to-day interface between customers and internal engineering teams.
  • Understand customer Statements of Work (SOW), Source Control Drawing (SCD), and contractual deliverables, ensuring project activities remain aligned with customer expectations.
  • Organize customer meetings, technical reviews, and internal project meetings; document meeting minutes and track action items to closure.
  • Coordinate phase-gate reviews and ensure required documentation and deliverables are completed before each project milestone.
  • Foster effective communication across engineering, manufacturing, supply chain, quality, and customer teams to ensure successful project execution.
Customer & Cross-Functional Coordination

Required Skills & Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering Management, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Optical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related engineering discipline.
  • 2–5 years of experience coordinating engineering or new product development projects.
  • Strong customer-facing communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to lead project review meetings and communicate effectively with technical and management teams.
  • Experience coordinating multidisciplinary engineering teams, managing project schedules, milestones, action items, and phase-gate reviews to ensure on-time project execution.
  • Ability to understand customer requirements, SOW, SCD, and engineering deliverables, and translate them into actionable project plans.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Project, Jira, Microsoft Excel, and Microsoft Office Suite.

Additional Preferred Skills:

  • Experience supporting aerospace, space, defense, telecommunications, or other high-reliability industries.
  • Familiarity with New Product Introduction (NPI), engineering change management, and engineering product development processes.
  • Technical background in optics, photonics, electronics, RF, semiconductor equipment, aerospace, or other complex engineering systems.
  • Familiarity with ITAR (International Traffic in Arms Regulations) and experience working in a regulated environment supporting U.S. government, aerospace, or defense programs.
