SVP, Credit Card Operations Director
Summary
The SVP, Credit Card Operations Director is responsible for leading and optimizing the full lifecycle of credit card operations, ensuring operational efficiency, regulatory compliance, risk management, and an exceptional customer experience. This role oversees card servicing, payment processing, disputes, fraud mitigation, vendor management, and operational strategy within a fast-paced banking and fintech environment.
The ideal candidate brings deep expertise in credit card operations, payments, and financial services, with a proven ability to scale operations, improve processes, and lead high-performing teams. Experience supporting specialized industries such as gaming, hospitality, or other highly regulated sectors is highly valued

This position plays a key role in delivering secure, seamless, and compliant payment solutions while supporting continued business growth.
Key Responsibilities
Lead and oversee all aspects of credit card operations, including account onboarding, servicing, billing, payment processing, disputes, and collections support.
Ensure compliance with applicable federal and state regulations, card network requirements (Visa, Mastercard, etc.), and internal policies.
Partner with risk, fraud, compliance, and credit teams to strengthen operational controls and reduce fraud and financial risk exposure.
Identify operational challenges and implement effective, timely solutions.
Collaborate with technology and product teams to drive automation, streamline workflows, and enhance the customer experience.
Develop and monitor KPIs and operational metrics to improve performance, quality, and customer satisfaction.
Manage third-party vendors and service providers, ensuring SLAs and contractual obligations are achieved.
Lead continuous improvement initiatives focused on operational scalability, efficiency, and service excellence.
Recruit, mentor, and develop operational teams while fostering a culture of accountability, collaboration, and performance.
Support strategic planning, budgeting, forecasting, and resource allocation initiatives.
Assist executive leadership with operational reporting, audits, regulatory examinations, and strategic projects.
Promote a customer-first culture and reinforce a commitment to exceptional service standards.
Perform additional duties as assigned.
Leadership Responsibilities
This role is responsible for leading and managing operational teams, including employee development, performance management, coaching, and organizational leadership.
Qualifications
Bachelor"s degree required.
10+ years of experience in credit card operations, payments, or financial services operations.
Prior experience within a regulated banking, fintech, or payments environment strongly preferred.
Experience supporting high-risk or specialized industries such as gaming, gambling, hospitality, or similar sectors preferred.
Proven success leading complex operational teams and driving large-scale operational improvements.
Strong understanding of card operations, payment processing, card network rules, and regulatory compliance requirements.
Demonstrated expertise in process optimization, automation, and operational efficiency initiatives.
Experience supporting public company governance, reporting, and compliance requirements preferred.
Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills with the ability to collaborate across departments and influence senior leadership.
Proven ability to lead organizational change and drive performance through metrics and accountability.
