*This role is aligned to the Diamond Infrastructure Solutions ("Diamond Infra") company and will be seconded from Dow to Diamond Infrastructure Solutions until January 1, 2027. At that time, the role will become directly aligned to the Diamond Infrastructure Solutions Company.*
About this Role

Diamond Infrastructure Solutions has an exciting opportunity for a SPO Permit Writer/Damage Prevention Rep located in Freeport (TX).

This role is responsible for writing safe work permits and serving as the Damage Prevention Representative for work being done in Site Pipeline owned areas.

Responsibilities
  • Permitting daily and project work including excavations, construction, maintenance, and any other activities within Site Pipeline area of control.
  • Ensure all EH&S rules / policies and procedures are followed by the contractor performing work activities
  • Actively participate in the Safety Observation / Intervention programs and conduct Safety Audits
  • Lead daily tailgate meetings
  • Ensure contractor required safety documentation is in place prior to permitting
  • Response to site ES&S as needed
  • Ensure good housekeeping on job site.
  • Participates in BBP and other safety required training and programs
  • Serve as Damage Prevention Representative on the job site to protect Dow assets.
Required Qualifications
  • A minimum of a High School diploma or GED equivalent
  • 5 or more years of relevant experience
  • Valid U.S. Driver's License
  • Must possess a TWIC card or be eligible to obtain a TWIC card. For information on TWIC eligibility requirements, please see: https://www.tsa.gov/for-industry/twic (If unable to access link, copy and paste in your browser.)
  • Willing to work overtime (extra hours beyond your regular scheduled) if required.
  • This position requires compliance with the Department of Transportation (DOT) drug and alcohol testing regulations. Candidates must pass a DOT-regulated drug test prior to employment and may be subject to random, post-accident, and reasonable suspicion testing during employment.
  • A minimum requirement for this U.S. based position is the ability to work legally in the United States. No visa sponsorship/support is available for this position, including for any type of U.S. permanent residency (green card) process.

Preferred Qualifications

  • An Associate's degree or higher or 3 or more years of military experience
  • Pipeline and/or regulatory experience in emergency services and security (ES&S), DOT, and/or Damage Prevention is desirable
  • Excavation Competent Person certification

Physical Demands

Able to meet the following physical demands of the job, with or without reasonable accommodations:

  • Wear and use respirators.
  • Perform frequent bending, reaching, and lifting.
  • Work in tight or closed-in spaces.
  • Climb stairs/ladders and work high off the ground.
  • Stand or walk for extended periods of time.
  • Lift a minimum of 50 lbs.
  • This role does involve elevated work greater than or equal to four feet above the ground. Must be able to wear and use personal protective equipment (PPE), including harnesses with a total weight capacity of 285 lbs.
