Job description

Who You Are and What You'll Do:
The Analytical Chemist Quality Coordinator / Analyst will manage the quality aspects of the Global Skin Care and Cleansing as well as regional Hair, Deo and Skin category stability and expiration studies and when needed will undertake the OTC active analysis using chromatography, titration and spectroscopy analysis.
The individual will coordinate the Stability OTC quality system, ensuring the documentation, instrumentation and analytical procedures are compliant. They will undertake monthly quality audits to ensure SOPs, staff training records, instrument calibrations and lab books are up to date. They will review and release the analytical data in the Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS), so must have a working know of analytical chemistry and LIMS databases. They will be responsible for trouble shooting the stability testing procedures and the development of new analytical methods as new actives are utilized in the OTC products. They will lead the method validation process and the corresponding method transfer to the manufacturing site quality control laboratories. The role has a strong emphasis on technical documentation and communication, and a working knowledge of analytical methodology.
What You Need to Succeed:
Bachelors Degree in a science related field required, Chemistry preferred with 5+ years of relevant experience / or a Masters with 3+ years of relevant experience
Quality skills must include a working knowledge of FDA, HC, ICH guidelines and experience in working in a Quality Control laboratory ideally with a personal care or pharmaceutical background
A working knowledge of LIMS databases (ideally LabVantage) and the use of Power BI or Excel spreadsheets to trend and track quality data, including the ability to statistically evaluate the data.
Familiarization of statistical software like JMP, SPSS, computer programming like Python, R, Matlab and data dashboards like PowerBI is a plus.
Analytical skills must include HPLC (preferably with UV, RI, ELSD detection techniques) and GC, sample preparation and clean up techniques (e.g. SPE, SPME, liquid-liquid extraction) and a familiarity of titration and spectroscopic techniques
Working knowledge of chromatographic data systems (e.g. ChemStation Open Lab, Empower) is desired.
Knowledge of maintenance and calibration functions for analytical equipment is preferred.
Experience with the analysis of cosmetics or personal care products is preferred.

Pay: The pay range for this position is $85K to $95K. Unilever takes into consideration a wide range of factors that are utilized in making compensation decisions including, but not limited to, skill sets, experience and training, licensure and certifications, qualifications and education, and other business and organizational needs.

Bonus: This position is bonus eligible.

Long-Term Incentive (LTI): This position is LTI eligible.
