OVERVIEW
The Associate Product Developer provides day-to-day operational and administrative support to the Senior Manager of Product Development throughout the product development lifecycle. This role is responsible for coordinating product development activities, maintaining project timelines and backend systems, managing samples, and supporting communication between internal teams and external manufacturing partners.
The ideal candidate is highly organized, detail-oriented, and thrives in a fast-paced environment. This role helps ensure development projects remain organized, on schedule, and accurately documented while supporting new product launches, Gift with Purchase (GWP) initiatives, and Loyalty programs.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Associate Product Developer
  • Support the Senior Manager of Product Development in coordinating new product development projects from concept through launch and assisting with ad hoc projects as business needs evolve.
  • Assist in maintaining product development calendars, milestone trackers, and project timelines to support on-time execution.
  • Update project timelines, testing trackers, and development workflows within Asana and other project management systems.
  • Assist in preparing product briefs, specifications, development documents, artwork routing, and project materials.
  • Coordinate follow-ups with internal teams and external partners to ensure project deliverables remain on schedule under the direction of the Senior Manager.
  • Support product testing, reformulations, pilot batches, and tech transfer activities as directed.
  • Assist with package development, documentation requests, and vendor follow-up.

Product Setup & Systems Management
  • Support accurate product setup and maintenance across internal systems, including SKU creations & product data entry.
  • Assist with maintaining product information, documentation, and BOM's, in internal systems including ERP and PLM, throughout the development lifecycle.

Sample & Testing Coordination
  • Coordinate incoming and outgoing product samples for all development projects.
  • Maintain organization of the Product Development sample library, vendor samples, competitive product library, and bulk inventory.
  • Coordinate sample requests and distribution for Marketing, Creative, Social, Education, Retail, Operations, Executive Leadership, and other cross-functional teams.
  • Prepare and coordinate sample and bulk product submissions for internal and external product testing.
  • Organize internal product testing panels, including sample preparation, survey creation, participant coordination, and collection of testing feedback.
  • Support third-party and internal testing initiatives by coordinating required samples, documentation, and submission forms.

GWP & Loyalty Program Support
  • Assist with promotional project initiatives for GWP and loyalty program launches, including maintaining project timelines, sample coordination, artwork routing and approvals, and tracking testing needs.
  • Support communication between Product Development, Marketing, Creative, Operations, and Production teams to help ensure timely execution
  • Meeting & Calendar Coordination
  • Assist in maintaining the Product Development calendar, including development milestones, key launch dates, and recurring meetings.
  • Schedule meetings with internal teams, contract manufacturers, vendors, and external partners.
  • Prepare & update vendor meeting agendas, capture meeting notes, distribute recaps, and track follow-up action items.
  • Support preparation of weekly project status updates and launch presentations.

Cross-Functional Support
  • Support communication and coordination between Product Development and cross-functional teams under the direction of the senior manager, including production, sourcing, quality, regulatory, marketing, creative, legal, and operations.
  • Assist in communicating project updates, sample availability, timeline changes, and testing schedules to internal stakeholders.
  • Assist with maintaining organized project documentation and ensuring cross-functional teams have access to current information.

QUALIFICATIONS
  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, Product Development, Merchandising, or a related field preferred.
  • 2-4 years of experience supporting Product Development, Project Coordination, Beauty, Consumer Products, or a related field.
  • Strong organizational and administrative skills with exceptional attention to detail.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and shifting priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Experience using project management platforms, preferably Asana.
  • Experience working with PLM, ERP, or product information management systems preferred.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Google Workspace, and Excel.
  • Experience supporting beauty, wellness, or consumer product development is preferred.

The base salary range for this position is $75,000-$90,000 per year which represents the current range for the base salary for this exempt position. Please note that actual salaries will vary based on factors including but not limited to location, experience, and performance. As such, on occasion and when applicable, there is the possibility that the final, agreed-upon base salary may be outside of the upper end of the range. Please also note the range listed is just one component of the company's total rewards package for exempt employees. Other rewards may include performance bonuses, long term incentives, a PTO policy, and many other progressive benefits.
