As a Pharmaceutical Sales Specialist (Dry Eye portfolio), you will build trusted partnerships, execute territory business plans, promote Alcon's innovative ocular health portfolio, and help expand access to solutions that support better patient outcomes. The role covers the Orlando, FL, focusing on a defined target list of physicians, optometrists, ophthalmologists, allied health care professionals, and key accounts across the territory. In this remote, field-based role, you will drive territory growth through strategic account management, customer engagement, and clinical product education with ophthalmologists, optometrists, allied healthcare professionals, and key decision-makers.
This role requires residence within the assigned territory and offers the opportunity to work independently while collaborating with industry-leading eye care professionals.
In this role, a typical day will include:
  • Driving territory growth and achieving sales objectives through strategic account planning and account management.
  • Developing and maintaining trusted relationships with ophthalmologists, optometrists, healthcare providers, and key stakeholders throughout the territory.
  • Educating customers on Alcon's ocular health pharmaceutical portfolio and supporting product adoption through clinical discussion and customer engagement.
  • Executing territory business plans focused on growing, optimizing, and protecting key accounts.
  • Conducting regular in-person customer visits and delivering educational presentations, speaker programs, and customer events.
  • Identifying growth opportunities through analysis of market trends, customer needs, and competitive intelligence.
  • Collaborating with cross-functional partners including Medical Science Liaisons, Market Access teams, Marketing, and Regional Sales Leadership.
  • Utilizing data and insights to create account strategies that drive business results and enhance customer engagement.
  • Managing a geographically dispersed territory with significant travel and customer-facing activity.

WHAT YOU'LL BRING TO ALCON:
  • Bachelor's Degree or Equivalent years of directly related experience (or high school +10 yrs; Assoc.+6 yrs; M.S.)
  • The ability to fluently read, write, understand, and communicate in English.
  • 2 Years of Proven Experience
  • Relocation/Sponsorship Assistance: Not Available
  • Travel: 100%. Must possess a valid driver's license and maintain an acceptable driving record.
  • Territory: Orlando, FL. Orlando, FL and surrounding Central Florida market, including Orange County and adjacent communities. Candidates must reside within the assigned territory.

Preferred Experience:
  • Self-motivated, resilient, and comfortable operating independently in a field-based sales environment.
  • Experience with new product launches, market development, customer adoption strategies, and territory growth initiatives.
  • Healthcare field sales experience, in ophthalmology, optometry, ocular health, or eye care pharmaceuticals.
  • Demonstrated success partnering with ophthalmologists, optometrists, retina specialists, glaucoma specialists, and other eye care professionals.
  • Experience promoting dry eye disease therapeutics, ocular health therapies, ophthalmic pharmaceuticals, and specialty eye care products.
  • Experience supporting ophthalmic medical devices, eye care diagnostics, surgical ophthalmology products, retina therapies, glaucoma treatments, or anterior segment products.
  • Proven ability to drive product adoption through clinical education, consultative selling, and strategic account management.
  • Strong understanding of physician-office workflows and the ability to influence treatment decisions through clinical and business discussions.
  • Experience developing territory business plans, prioritizing accounts, and identifying growth opportunities through customer insights and market analysis.
  • Proven success engaging healthcare providers and building long-term customer relationships based on trust and credibility.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, negotiation, and relationship-building skills.
