As a subsidiary of Sony Group Corporation, we're part of a proud legacy of innovation and excellence. SIE is a dynamic technology company, delivering cutting-edge hardware and network services to more than 100 million people and an entertainment leader, home to some of the most beloved and recognizable intellectual properties (IP) in the world. Our role at SIE is to create and nurture the experiences under the PlayStation brand, a name synonymous with entertainment excellence and creativity.

Senior Media Planner, Contract
*remote considered

This is a 6-month role supporting PlayStation's Global Media team. The position will provide senior-level media planning support across priority hardware and software campaigns, helping maintain continuity across active workstreams and ensuring high-quality planning and execution throughout the six-month period.

As a Senior Media Planner, you will play a key role in bringing PlayStation's global media strategies to life across hardware and software. Working across multiple high-profile campaigns, you will translate approved media strategies into tactical media plans, guide agency execution, and partner with cross-functional teams to deliver campaigns that drive both brand impact and business performance.

This role is ideal for an experienced media professional who can quickly integrate into a complex global organization, operate with a high degree of independence, and bring strong judgment and operational excellence to active campaign workstreams. While deep expertise in digital media planning and activation is essential, success also requires a strong understanding of the broader media ecosystem, enabling you to evaluate channel roles, challenge recommendations, and build integrated media plans that deliver against business objectives. You will partner closely with Media Strategy, Audience Infrastructure & Measurement, and agency partners to optimize campaigns, improve planning processes, and deliver world-class media campaigns for some of the industry's most recognizable entertainment brands.

Main Areas of Responsibility

  • Own end-to-end planning and activation workflows for assigned global paid media campaigns across PlayStation hardware and software titles.
  • Translate approved media strategies into tactical media plans while proactively identifying risks, opportunities, and tradeoffs that could influence campaign outcomes.
  • Evaluate media recommendations across channels, markets, and audiences, providing clear rationale and optimization recommendations that improve campaign effectiveness and business outcomes.
  • Shape integrated tactical media plans that translate strategy into effective campaign execution across markets and channels.
  • Partner with internal stakeholders and agency teams to develop media plans that align with marketing objectives and audience strategies.
  • Drive tactical media plans through stakeholder review and approval, building alignment and addressing feedback throughout the planning process.
  • Own creative readiness for campaign launch, coordinating specifications, asset delivery, trafficking requirements, and landing page inputs with agency partners.
  • Lead day-to-day agency engagement, providing direction, resolving executional issues, and holding partners accountable for delivery.
  • Serve as a trusted media advisor to cross-functional stakeholders, providing recommendations on channel strategy, audience planning, measurement, and emerging media opportunities.
  • Lead campaign performance reviews in partnership with agency and internal teams, translating results into actionable recommendations that improve future planning and investment decisions.
  • Drive continuous improvement across planning workflows, campaign documentation, approval processes, and stakeholder communications.
  • Identify opportunities to simplify operations and improve scalability while maintaining high-quality execution.
  • Maintain clear documentation across active workstreams, ensuring campaign status, key decisions, risks, and next steps remain visible to stakeholders.

Leadership & Ways of Working

  • Operate independently once priorities and objectives have been established.
  • Take ownership of campaign outcomes while fostering accountability across agency and cross-functional partners.
  • Build alignment across stakeholders to maintain campaign momentum and resolve issues quickly.
  • Communicate risks early and recommend practical mitigation plans.
  • Influence decisions through expertise, thoughtful recommendations, and collaborative partnership.

Key Performance Indicators

  • Deliver tactical media plans on time, within budget, and aligned to approved strategy.
  • Maintain continuity across assigned planning workstreams with minimal disruption.
  • Keep agency partners and stakeholders on track against planning, approval, trafficking, and reporting milestones.
  • Identify and escalate budget, timing, creative, localization, and measurement risks before they become blockers.
  • Deliver clear, concise communications that enable timely decision-making.
  • Ensure campaign recommendations are grounded in media fundamentals, audience strategy, campaign performance, and business objectives.
  • Maintain accurate campaign documentation and handoff materials across active workstreams.

Requirements

  • 8+ years of paid media, integrated media planning, or digital marketing experience.
  • Experience planning and managing large-scale global or multi-market paid media campaigns.
  • Deep expertise across digital media channels - including programmatic, paid social, paid search, online video, and emerging media - paired with a strong understanding of integrated media planning principles across both digital and offline channels.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead agency partners, evaluate recommendations, and influence strategic media decisions.
  • Strong understanding of media planning fundamentals, including audience strategy, channel mix, reach and frequency, pacing, optimization, and measurement.
  • Experience managing complex campaign timelines, budgets, creative workflows, and stakeholder approvals.
  • Excellent analytical, project management, and communication skills with the ability to translate complex information into clear recommendations.
  • Demonstrated AI proficiency, with the ability to effectively leverage AI to improve productivity, accelerate analysis, strengthen decision-making, and enhance the quality of work.
  • Advanced PowerPoint and Excel skills, with experience using media reporting tools, campaign trackers, and planning documentation.

Candidate Preferred Qualities

  • Bachelor's degree, MBA, or equivalent experience.
  • Experience working within a global matrix organization.
  • Experience in gaming, entertainment, technology, consumer electronics, streaming, or direct-to-consumer marketing.
