Job description

Team Red Dog is hiring a Senior Azure Linux Validation Engineer for our client, a leading cloud and software provider and Fortune 50 technology leader. In this hybrid (Hillsboro, OR) role, you'll operate at the intersection of Linux systems engineering, Azure cloud services, and validation engineering-building and supporting tools that power large-scale SoC validation for next-generation compute platforms. You'll contribute to automation, testing, and validation workflows while leveraging Azure infrastructure, Python development, and DevOps practices to deliver secure, scalable solutions. This is a high-impact opportunity to work directly with platform engineering teams, driving measurable improvements in system validation, security compliance, and cloud-based tooling.

Opportunity Overview:
This role sits within a high-visibility Verification & Validation organization focused on enabling Azure-based validation systems for Microsoft's Cobalt SoC platforms. You'll work on well-defined, impactful initiatives with clear success metrics-supporting security, compliance, and infrastructure workflows that directly influence engineering quality and release readiness. With direct exposure to Azure platform services and strong mentorship from senior engineers, this position offers both stability and meaningful technical growth.
How you will make an impact:
• Build and integrate Azure-based tools and utilities supporting validation workflows
• Support Linux-based validation systems for next-generation compute platforms
• Manage and execute Azure DevOps (ADO) work items, including KPI and S360 tracking
• Drive security and compliance improvements across Azure service environments
• Automate processes using Python to improve efficiency and scalability
• Deliver weekly reporting and insights to engineering leadership
• Collaborate with cross-functional engineering teams to support validation initiatives
The expertise you bring:
• Bachelor's degree in computer science, software engineering, or related field
• 5-7 years of experience in software engineering or systems engineering
• Strong experience with Azure services and cloud-based solution development
• Proven ability to manage ADO work items, reporting, and service tracking
• Hands-on Python development experience for automation or tooling
• Solid understanding of Linux systems and validation environments
• Strong communication, problem-solving, and collaboration skills
