The Project Manager will be responsible for managing project deliverables to design, procure, install, commission and close out large-scale battery storage systems at customer sites throughout North America. This includes defining and managing project scope, schedule, budget, internal and external stakeholder management, change and risk management, project reporting and contracts management.

The Project Manager will be the primary interface between the customer and project stakeholders. You will lead and coordinate activities between staff in Korea and the United States. This is an opportunity to contribute to the growth in North America and the expansion of the Project Management organization. This position reports to the Director of Project Management.

Primary Responsibilities

Lead battery storage system projects from initiation through installation, commissioning, and closeout.

  • Stakeholder Management:
    • Project point of contact for external and internal stakeholders including Engineering resources, subcontractors and suppliers.
    • Conduct regular project status meetings, follow up actions, and provide reports to customers as well as internal Management, including project cost, scope, schedule, and quality.
    • Coordinate preparation and submittal of manuals, drawings, reports and other documentation and deliverables to meet customer requirements.
    • Manage suppliers independently to manage supply chain + technical issues to support project work. Coordinates suppliers to site.
  • Contract Management:
    • Understand contracts, issue change orders as needed using supervisor review and contracts help, if needed.
    • Understand all the LD, financial & Schedule risk drivers
    • Responsible for compliance with all contractual requirements and development of change orders. Work with a team to develop solutions to address any gaps.
  • Project Controls (Financial and Schedule)
    • Tracks when vendors or 3rd party need to get paid.
    • Learns the interworking on the Financial Project Tracking Sheet (PTS) and assists in PTS/Revenue Tracking/ Forecast/ Scheduling duties for the project.
    • Has regular meetings with project scheduler to keep the P6 schedule updated
  • Technical Design & Engineering Support
    • Identifies technical issues and routes to proper resources (Project Engineering, Software Engineering, PLC ) for solution.
    • Has a basic understanding of AEROS, Battery, PCS products
    • Delegates any technical decisions to engineering/software teams.
  • Commissioning & Operations
    • Supports Cx coordination activities, attends daily PODs and supports the team as needed.
    • Manages vendor and customer during commissioning process and interfaces with Field Service team to drive commissioning to complete.
    • Interfaces with performance engineering to generate commissioning reports.
    • Creates and manages a risk register

Education and Experience

  • A Bachelor’s Degree, or equivalent, in a technical discipline is preferred.
  • PMP Certification or demonstrated competency in managing complex project s is a plus.
  • Number of years of Experience Required: 4+ yrs. Project Execution experience required.
  • Experience with electrical equipment or power/utility/renewables market is a plus.

Travel

This position requires approximately 20% travel annually. This includes regular travel to project sites during key milestones.
