What You'll Do:
  • Safe execution of all capital projects by leading through example, ensuring process and personnel safety is incorporated into initial options analysis, engineering, planning, and field execution. Including ensuring Contract Construction Coordinators are aware of and adhere to site safety protocols, ensure investigation and follow-up to incidents on projects is completed
  • Solid foundation for the development of preliminary project scope and capital class estimates. Engage project stakeholders to gather insights and details needed to meet project goals
  • Prepare/direct creation of all documents and deliverables necessary for gated project development, FEED & progressive capital funding
  • Coordinate project activities between Operations, Maintenance, Safety, and Environmental onsite departments, as well as centralized subject matter experts (SMEs) within Nitrogen Technical Services
  • Responsible for project schedule creation and monitoring of schedule impacts to cost, risk, construction, and completions activities
  • Prepare scope of work, bid documents, and coordinate with site Procurement group to execute contracts and manage commitments
  • Develop purchase requisitions for major equipment and large material purchases.
  • Is project lead between company and 3rd party engineering firms; responsible for ensuring that all design work meets applicable codes and regulations
  • Participates in capital planning exercises to maintain optimum use of project capital under dynamic circumstances
  • Supervise any supplemental contractor labor assigned to projects.
  • Manage field execution for small or low complexity projects as necessary.
  • First point of contact for consultation of on-going construction activities
What You'll Bring:

Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Chemical, or a related Engineering discipline

PMP certification preferred; willingness to obtain certification is preferred

Minimum of 10 years of experience in a chemical plant, refinery, power generation facility, or similar industrial environment. Equivalent project management experience in these industries will also be considered

Demonstrated experience leading multidisciplinary capital projects from concept development through construction and startup

  • Knowledge and use of MS Office software products
  • Experience with stage gated project management software

Strong working knowledge of applicable engineering codes, industry standards, and regulatory requirements
