Meats by Linz

Hammond, IN • On-site

Job description

Position Overview:
Meats by Linz is looking for a Product & Pricing Specialist to become part of our fast-growing team in the meat purveyor industry! In this role, you'll own the accuracy and integrity of product, costing, and pricing data across the ERP, serving as the operational link between how products are built, costed, and priced and how that data is used by Sales, Procurement, Operations, and Finance. The ideal candidate is highly detail oriented, organized, process driven, and comfortable managing high volume, recurring data updates while maintaining accuracy across interconnected product, costing, and contract records.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Create, maintain, and manage product codes and master data within the ERP, including processed, purchased, and bundled products, ensuring accuracy and consistency across product, cost, and pricing records.
  • Input and maintain yield formulas, costing data, and pricing structures for street and contract accounts.
  • Execute the weekly pricing update process, including cost changes, formula-based adjustments, and validation checks to ensure pricing accuracy.
  • Perform annual pricing audits for contracted accounts, identifying and documenting historical data for compliance.
  • Support and maintain contract pricing logic, including formula build-outs and matrix configuration.
  • Populate and maintain RFP pricing files, ensuring alignment with current costs, pricing structures, and approved inputs.
  • Maintain product specification data, ensuring consistency between ERP data, internal documentation, and customer requirements.
  • Improve and standardize product categorization, attributes, and hierarchies to enhance reporting accuracy, pricing consistency, and analytical capabilities.
  • Act as a data steward for product, costing, and pricing information within the ERP, working with Sales, Procurement, Operations, Finance, and IT to support data accuracy and scalability.

Job Requirements and Skills:
  • 3-5 years in product data, costing, pricing, or ERP data administration, with hands-on experience executing bulk data changes (e.g., delimited file imports) and configuring product records in an ERP system
  • Working knowledge of costing and pricing concepts (markup, pricing matrices, contract vs. street pricing), with the ability to translate approved business decisions into accurate system configuration
  • High attention to detail; comfortable maintaining accuracy across high-volume, interconnected records where errors compound downstream
  • Strong Excel proficiency required; ERP, pricing matrix, or contract pricing experience strongly preferred
  • Strong organizational and cross-functional communication skills, able to work within defined processes across Sales, Procurement, Operations, IT, and Finance
  • Meat or protein manufacturing knowledge (cutting, yield, repack/made-from processes) is a strong advantage given our industry, though not required

Growth and Career Path
The role will start hands-on: building product codes, executing weekly pricing updates, and getting fluent in how Meats by Linz's ERP, costing logic, and contract pricing work day to day. Our product and pricing footprint has grown quickly, and once you're comfortable and trained on our systems, this role gives you direct ownership over organizing, standardizing, and scaling that data as the systematic backbone Sales, Operations, and Finance rely on.
As you build that foundation, typically over the first 1-2 years, the role expands. You'll take on greater ownership of the systems and structures behind pricing and costing, configuring formulas, matrices, and categorization frameworks with more autonomy and less oversight, while working more directly across Sales, Operations, Finance, and Production. At that point, the title evolves alongside the scope, reflecting your growth into the subject-matter expert for product and pricing data infrastructure across the business.
Longer term, as Meats by Linz continues to grow, we anticipate building a dedicated merchandising function. This role is one of the paths that could feed into that future team, an opportunity for the right person to help shape and build the systems it will run on.
