To thrive as a Contract Power Platform Developer, you need strong expertise in Microsoft Power Platform (Power Apps, Power Automate, Power BI), a solid background in software development, and experience with data modeling and integration, typically backed by relevant certifications. Familiarity with tools like Azure, SharePoint, Dynamics 365, and knowledge of programming languages such as JavaScript and Power Fx is highly valuable. Excellent problem-solving abilities, communication skills, and adaptability help you effectively gather client requirements and deliver customized solutions. These skills ensure you can build robust, scalable automation and analytics solutions that meet client needs efficiently and securely.

What is a Contract Power Platform Developer?

A Contract Power Platform Developer is an IT professional who is hired on a temporary or project basis to design, build, and maintain business solutions using Microsoft's Power Platform. This role typically involves working with tools like Power Apps, Power Automate, Power BI, and Power Virtual Agents to automate workflows, create custom applications, and analyze data. Contract developers work with organizations to address specific project needs, often bringing specialized expertise to accelerate digital transformation initiatives. They may work independently or as part of a larger team, depending on the scope of the contract.

What are some common challenges faced by Contract Power Platform Developers when working with clients on custom solutions?

As a Contract Power Platform Developer, one common challenge is quickly understanding a client's unique business processes and requirements in order to design effective custom solutions. You may also need to navigate varying levels of client familiarity with the Power Platform, which can impact communication and expectations. Additionally, balancing rapid development timelines with best practices for security, scalability, and maintainability is often essential, especially when integrating Power Apps, Power Automate, and other Microsoft services. Collaborating effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders is crucial for project success.

Job description

Department: Engineering

The Engineering organisation at Signifyd is at the forefront of building cutting-edge solutions that protect and empower global commerce. We pride ourselves on delivering highly scalable, robust systems that evolve with our customers' growing needs, from emerging startups to enterprise-level organizations processing millions of transactions. Our engineers thrive in an innovative, agile environment where rapid iteration and continuous learning drive our success. We embrace modern development practices, leverage cloud-native technologies, and maintain a customer-obsessed mindset that ensures our solutions not only meet today's requirements but also anticipate tomorrow's challenges. Strong partnerships with Product, Data Science and our business stakeholders ensure every technical decision is aligned with delivering maximum value to our customers and driving meaningful business outcomes.

-------------------------------------------

Signifyd is looking to hire a Senior Software Engineer for its Cloud Platform Engineering group. Within our broader Engineering organization, this pivotal role will drive the design, implementation, and comprehensive management of our enterprise cloud infrastructure. You will provide technical leadership to a team of highly skilled engineers, automating and maintaining a vast computing environment that supports our core decision platform for customers ranging from emerging startups to large-scale enterprises processing millions of transactions. Thriving in an innovative culture of rapid iteration and continuous learning, you will partner closely with cross-functional engineering teams to resolve complex infrastructure challenges and ensure technical decisions align with strategic business outcomes. To ensure seamless system operations, the ideal candidate will possess a software development skillset, strong analytical and communication skills, and deep technical proficiency across cloud technologies, containers, Kubernetes, cloud networking, security, and platform engineering

Responsibilities: Pioneer AI-Driven Infrastructure
  • Build the future: Architect and integrate LLM-powered, agentic tools into our platform ecosystem. You will design self-healing infrastructure and automated root-cause analysis workflows to drastically reduce operational toil and accelerate incident resolution.
Architect for Scale, Security, & Reliability
  • Evolve the ecosystem: Drive the strategic roadmap for our GCP and Kubernetes-based cloud capabilities, balancing direct developer feedback with emerging cloud technologies.
  • Drive operational excellence: Define, build, and maintain rigorous system Service Level Objectives (SLOs) and incident management processes. You will share ownership of platform health by participating in on-call rotations, using those frontline insights to continuously harden our systems.
  • Embed security: Design transparent platform security (access controls, encryption, vulnerability management) that keeps the platform secure without slowing down developer velocity.
  • Optimize footprint: Manage cloud capacity and FinOps proactively, offering efficient scaling solutions and cost transparency to engineering teams.
Elevate Developer Experience (DevEx)
  • Productize the platform: Transform CI/CD (GitHub Actions, TeamCity), deployment (ArgoCD), and build tooling into a cohesive, self-service product that drives Change Failure Rates (CFR) to zero.
  • Pave the golden path: Embed platform standards directly into our tooling so that the "right way" is automatically the fastest and easiest way for our software engineers.
Technical Leadership & Mentorship
  • Solve systemic problems: Provide high-level, solutions-oriented support by troubleshooting complex infrastructure issues and delivering resilient, product-level fixes.
  • Champion the culture: Foster a customer-focused engineering environment. You will mentor junior team members and advocate for product-thinking and deep empathy for the developer experience.
Requirements: Cloud & Infrastructure Mastery
  • Cloud Platform: Deep proficiency in Google Cloud Platform (GCP) is required; AWS experience is a strong plus. You have in-depth knowledge of cloud networking, protocols, and security best practices.
  • Kubernetes: Extensive expertise operating both self-managed and cloud-managed Kubernetes architectures at scale.
  • Data Systems: Experience managing and scaling robust data storage and streaming technologies (e.g., PostgreSQL, MySQL, Cassandra, Elasticsearch, Kafka).
Software Engineering & DevEx
  • Coding Proficiency: Strong software development skills in high-level languages (e.g., Python, Go, Java, TypeScript) combined with modern development practices.
  • IaC & GitOps: Proven ability to build secure, self-service infrastructure using Infrastructure-as-Code (Terraform) and declarative CI/CD pipelines (ArgoCD, GitHub Actions, TeamCity) to deploy with confidence and drive down CFR.
Observability & AI-Fluency
  • AI Tooling: Proficiency using modern AI-assisted development tools (Cursor, GitHub Copilot, Claude). Crucially, you possess the architectural critical thinking required to audit AI-generated code for security, correctness, and long-term maintainability.

Telemetry: Experience designing scalable, OpenTelemetry-based monitoring and tracing frameworks that equip engineering teams to swiftly pinpoint bottlenecks and lower MTTR.
