Job description

Chemical processing facility located in Theodore, AL is currently looking for an experienced Planner/Scheduler for our Civil Departnent (experience in Industrial Paint, Civil, Industrial Insulation)

SUMMARY Prepares complete estimates for assigned project(s) and determines project plans and specifications.

  • 5+ years experience working as a Planner/Scheduler
  • Experience working in a Production/Manufacturing facility
  • SAP Experience
  • Must have valid driver's license
  • Must be able to pass background check

RESPONSIBILITIES - Reviews and incorporates historical data from purchase orders, subcontracts, productivity analysis reports, etc. into unit and man-hour figures - Estimates worker-hours and materials required to complete the job - Reviews specifications, drawings, etc. to determine scope of work and required contents of estimates - Maintains files of working documents and back-up for estimate figures. - Reads and interprets instructions and documentation and plans work activities. - Moves materials and equipment to work locations and sets up work sites - Follows all hazardous waste handling guidelines. - Completes records, maintains tools and equipment, and performs various clean-up and housekeeping activities. - Responsible for observing and complying with all safety and project rules. Performs other duties as required.

Work Schedule: Mon - Thurs 6:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. (same overtime is mandatory)

Pay: Starting pay around $34.28 - $37.16

JOB REQUIREMENTS - Work within precise limits or standards of accuracy. - Prepare estimates by calculating complete takeoff of scope of work. - Follow contracts as assigned. - Apply shop mathematics to solve problems. - Plan work and select proper tools. - Compare and see differences in the size, shape and form of lines, figures and objects. - Visualize objects in three dimensions from plans and drawings. - Make decisions based on measurable criteria. - Responsible for observing and complying with all safety and project rules. Performs other duties as required.

QUALIFICATIONS May require a high school diploma or its equivalent with previous years of experience in the field or in a related area. Has knowledge of commonly-used concepts, practices, and procedures within a particular field. Relies on instructions and pre-established guidelines to perform the functions of the job. Works under immediate supervision. Primary job functions do not typically require exercising independent judgment. Typically reports to a supervisor or manager.
