Data Analyst

4 Consulting Inc. is seeking a skilled and experienced Data Analyst to support data analysis, financial validation, quality assurance, reporting, and process improvement activities for enterprise-level projects. The ideal candidate will possess strong analytical and accounting knowledge, advanced data analysis skills, and experience developing automated solutions using Python, Excel, and VBA.

Key Responsibilities

  • Analyze complex financial, procurement, contractual, and operational data to support validation and payment review activities.
  • Review complex project documentation, including procurement policies, mutual aid agreements, contracts, labor policies, union agreements, and other supporting documentation.
  • Evaluate documentation and prepare assessments to support validation of line-item costs.
  • Review validation workbooks and perform quality assurance checks to ensure the accuracy, completeness, and consistency of data prior to payment processing.
  • Utilize data analytics techniques and tools to identify discrepancies, trends, exceptions, and potential data-quality issues.
  • Develop and maintain advanced Excel models to analyze large and complex datasets.
  • Write Python scripts to process, analyze, and validate data and automate repetitive review activities.
  • Develop VBA-based solutions and other automation tools to improve the efficiency and accuracy of data processing and reporting.
  • Prepare project status reports, analytical summaries, and management reports for clients and project leadership.
  • Build and maintain dashboards to track project status, key performance indicators, validation results, and other relevant metrics.
  • Apply accounting and CPA knowledge when analyzing financial information and responding to technical questions from clients and project team members.
  • Coordinate with validation team members, assign and track analytical tasks, and provide guidance to ensure project deliverables are completed accurately and on schedule.
  • Assist project leadership with data-driven decision-making by providing meaningful analysis, findings, and recommendations.
  • Identify opportunities to improve existing data analysis, validation, quality assurance, and reporting processes.

Required Qualifications

  • Strong experience in data analysis, data validation, financial analysis, or a related analytical function.
  • CPA designation or strong professional accounting and financial analysis knowledge.
  • Proficiency in Python for data processing, analysis, and automation.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including complex formulas, data modeling, PivotTables, and analytical functions.
  • Experience with VBA and Excel-based process automation.
  • Experience analyzing large and complex datasets.
  • Experience developing dashboards, reports, and analytical summaries.
  • Strong quality assurance and data validation skills.
  • Ability to review and interpret complex financial, contractual, procurement, and policy documentation.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and attention-to-detail skills.
  • Ability to communicate analytical findings clearly to clients, project leadership, and team members.
  • Experience coordinating team activities and managing multiple priorities and deliverables.

Preferred Skills

  • Experience working with financial validation, payment review, compliance, or government-related projects.
