Job description

Temporary/Contract Data Analyst
Division of Insurance
The Division of Insurance is seeking a temporary/contract Data Analyst to support data-driven reporting and analysis efforts. This role will assist in responding to data calls, developing dashboards and visualizations, and translating complex data into clear, actionable insights.
The ideal candidate has a background in mathematics, data science, data analytics, computer science, actuarialor a related field, and brings a well-rounded academic or professional experience that extends beyond technical coursework. Strong analytical thinking, communication skills, and attention to detail are essential.
Key Responsibilities:
Analyze and interpret datasets to support internal and external reporting needs
Develop dashboards or data visualizations for reports and presentations
Assist with data calls, including data collection, validation, and organization
Communicate findings clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences
Assist in drafting various reports for both internal and external audiences
Preferred Qualifications:
Background in mathematics, data science, data analytics, computer science, actuarialor similar
Experience with data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI, or similar)
Strong writing and communication skills
A writing sample will be required as part of the application process. Prior experience in insurance is preferred but not required.
