Mechanical Construction Project Manager

Customized Mechanical Solutions, LLC is seeking a Mechanical Project Manager responsible for overseeing successful execution of projects. This includes managing financial performance, scheduling, and technical scope in line with contract requirements, project objectives, and corporate policies. The role will also be involved in proposal preparation, cost estimating, scheduling, planning, design support, field execution, and closeout activities.
Job Responsibilities
  • Define project objectives, performance standards, and procedures in accordance with job specifications, project plans, and company guidelines
  • Develop project schedules, budgets, and execution plans to achieve successful outcomes
  • Serve as the primary client contact and coordinate communication to meet project goals
  • Support proposal preparation and negotiate contract changes in collaboration with internal teams and external parties
  • Plan and organize project staffing needs using approved hiring processes
  • Ensure projects are completed on time, within budget, and aligned with quality expectations
  • Oversee financial tracking and reporting, maintaining profitability and strong working relationships with clients, subcontractors, and vendors
  • Manage requisitions for materials, vendors, and subcontractors
  • Perform other assigned duties

Requirements
Required Skills
  • Background in mechanical construction is preferred
  • Strong leadership and collaboration skills for building cohesive project teams
  • Professional communication skills across written, verbal, and in-person interactions
  • In-depth understanding of construction practices, project scheduling, contract administration, document interpretation, financial oversight, and equipment usage
  • Proficiency with Microsoft 365, Microsoft Project, and Primavera P6
  • Ability to work independently and complete assignments with minimal supervision

Education and Experience
  • Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field and at least 3 years of experience as an Assistant Project Manager, or more than 7 years in a similar project management role;
    OR
  • Associate's degree in related field and at least 5 years of experience as an Assistant Project Manager, or more than 9 years of relevant outside experience

Travel Requirements
  • Travel: 10%-25%
  • Frequency varies based on project needs

Physical Requirements
This role includes both field and office responsibilities.
Field conditions:
  • Work in proximity to heavy machinery and equipment
  • Exposure to outdoor weather conditions, including rain, heat, cold, and humidity
  • Noise levels may be high due to construction equipment
  • Must be able to lift up to 40 lbs. repeatedly
  • Regular physical movement, including walking, standing, and bending for extended periods

Office conditions:
  • Sedentary work in a climate-controlled environment
  • Extended computer use and office equipment operation
  • Periodic lifting of up to 15 lbs. (e.g., small packages or equipment)
