Job description

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Production Manager to lead and manage a high mix, complex PCBA environment. The areas of responsibility include Surface Mount Technology (SMT), component prep, mechanical and through hole assembly, selective / wave soldering and box build assembly test and pack. In this role, you will lead the SMT and manufacturing team to ensure the highest levels of quality, efficiency, and safety. You will be responsible for managing day-to-day operations across multiple SMT lines, optimizing equipment performance, driving continuous improvement initiatives, and seamlessly integrating New Product Introductions (NPI) into the manufacturing process .

Essential Functions:
  • Direct and coordinate daily manufacturing activities to meet safety requirements, production schedules, quality standards, and cost objectives
  • Ensure full regulatory compliance with industry standards (e.g., IPC-A-610, ISO 9001, ISO 13485..
  • Drive continuous improvement using Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma methodologies (5S, Kaizen, Kanban etc)
  • Monitor and improve key performance indicators (KPI) such as Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE), First Pass Yield (FPY), and cycle times
  • Lead daily Tier 1, Manage for Daily Improvement (MDI) start of shift stand-up meetings.
  • Collaborate with the New Product Introduction (NPI) team to ensure smooth transition of new products from design to mass production, including DFM (Design for Manufacturing) feedback
  • Oversee the setup, programming, and operation of all SMT equipment (Solder Paste Printers, SPI, Pick-and-Place, Reflow Ovens, and AOI)
  • Skilled in coaching, mentoring, and driving performance to unlock the full potential of individuals and teams
  • Ensure all personnel strictly adhere to ESD (Electrostatic Discharge) and EHS (Environment, Health, and Safety) protocols
  • Hire, train, mentor, and evaluate the performance of the manufacturing associates and staff, as applicable
  • Maintain and control tool crib and all consumable usage for all manufacturing operations
  • Demonstrate a strong commitment to both internal and external customer satisfaction by proactively finding opportunities for improvement and building customer loyalty
Education Requirement:

Bachelor’s degree in manufacturing/industrial engineering, mechanical engineering or related field.

Experience Requirement:
  • Minimum of 7 to 10 years of increasing leadership responsibility within the electronic contract manufacturing industry.
  • At least 3–5 years in a managerial or supervisory role overseeing SMT lines
  • Experience in a ISO-certified environment overseeing printed circuit board assembly lines while ensuring strict compliance with quality management standards for ISO 9001, AS9100 and ISO 13485
  • Strong computer skills in Enterprise Resource Planning and Microsoft Office
Skills/Knowledge/Abilities (SKA):
  • Demonstrated working knowledge of ISO workmanship standards.
  • Must have the ability to communicate with diverse personalities in a multilingual workforce.
  • Strong analytical problem-solving abilities, excellent leadership and communication skills, and the ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment
  • Background in military, aerospace, medical and consumer electronic manufacturing preferred
  • At least 3–5 years in a managerial or supervisory role overseeing SMT lines
