Job description

Position Summary:

Mu-Del Electronics is seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Manufacturing Quality Manager to lead our Quality Assurance team and ensure compliance with industry standards, customer requirements, and regulatory guidelines. This leadership role is responsible for overseeing all aspects of product quality, quality systems, and continuous improvement initiatives within the organization.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop, implement, and maintain the company’s Quality Management System (QMS) in compliance with ISO 9001, AS9100, and applicable customer/contractual requirements
  • Lead internal and external audits, including audits from customers, ISO registrars, and government agencies
  • Oversee inspection processes for incoming materials, in-process builds, and final product acceptance
  • Manage the non-conformance, corrective action, and root cause analysis processes
  • Collaborate with Engineering, Production, and Supply Chain to resolve quality issues and drive preventive actions
  • Establish and track quality metrics (KPIs), analyzing data to identify trends and implement continuous improvements
  • Maintain documentation for quality procedures, work instructions, and compliance reports
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for quality-related matters with customers and regulatory bodies
  • Ensure compliance with ITAR, DFARS, and other relevant defense industry regulations
  • Train and mentor QA staff and support quality awareness across all departments

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Quality, Engineering, or related technical field preferred
  • 5+ years of experience in quality management in a manufacturing environment, preferably electronics or aerospace/defense
  • Proven leadership skills with the ability to manage a team and drive cross-functional initiatives
  • Deep understanding of ISO 9001 and AS9100 standards, audit procedures, and quality documentation
  • Familiarity with IPC-A-610, J-STD-001, or MIL-STD quality standards
  • Strong analytical skills with experience in root cause analysis and continuous improvement tools
  • Experience with ERP/MRP systems and Microsoft Office Suite
  • Excellent communication skills for interfacing with internal teams, customers, and auditors
  • Experience with RF/microwave product quality and testing environments preferred
  • CIT IPC J-STD-001 and CIT IPC WHAM-A-620 certification preferred
  • Aerospace Quality Management Systems Internal Auditor using AS9100, ISO 9001:2015, and ISO 19011:2018 preferred
