Job description

We are seeking an experienced Power Plant Manager to lead the operations and maintenance of a utility-scale combined-cycle natural gas power plant. This is a high-impact leadership role responsible for ensuring the facility operates safely, reliably, and efficiently while meeting operational, environmental, and financial performance objectives.

The ideal candidate will have experience managing a 2x1 combined-cycle power plant (or a comparable utility-scale combined-cycle facility) and a proven track record of leading plant operations, maintenance, safety, compliance, and personnel

Responsibilities
  • Provide overall leadership for the safe, reliable, and cost-effective operation of the power plant
  • Oversee daily operations, maintenance activities, outage planning, and plant performance
  • Manage annual operating budgets, cost controls, purchasing, and inventory
  • Ensure compliance with all NERC, environmental, and regulatory requirements
  • Lead and develop plant personnel while fostering a strong safety-first culture
  • Monitor plant performance and identify opportunities to improve reliability, efficiency, and operational excellence
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with plant ownership, vendors, contractors, and other stakeholders
  • Recommend and implement plant upgrades and process improvements supported by sound technical and financial analysis
  • Ensure adherence to company policies, safety standards, and operational procedures
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent industry experience
  • Significant leadership experience within combined-cycle power plant operations and maintenance
  • Experience managing operations and maintenance at a utility-scale combined-cycle natural gas power plant
  • Experience with large frame gas turbines. Siemens experience is preferred; GE and Mitsubishi turbine experience will also be considered
  • Strong background in outage planning, plant reliability, budgeting, and cost management
  • Experience with NERC compliance, environmental programs, and regulatory requirements
  • Proven ability to lead, mentor, and develop high-performing operations and maintenance teams
  • Excellent communication and relationship-building skills with internal leadership, plant owners, and external stakeholders
  • Demonstrated commitment to safety, operational excellence, and continuous improvement
