Job description

Job Title: Data Engineer II - Analytics
Essential Functions:
  • Design and implement changes to our data model in collaboration with our product team.
  • Develop and maintain dashboards and reports using our BI tool, Looker.
  • Actively participate in team meetings, including stand-ups and planning sessions.
  • Review and provide constructive feedback on peer pull requests (PRs) to maintain code quality and standards.
  • Debug and troubleshoot complex data-related issues, ensuring data integrity and reliability.
  • Participate in the team's scheduled on-call rotation.

Success in this role:
  • Deliver reliable, scalable, high performing customer facing analytic services.
  • Consistently deliver committed business initiatives and coordinates with other stakeholders to roll out products with analytic insights.
  • Take ownership of the team's infrastructure and data pipeline to ensure SLAs are met.

Minimum Requirements:
Specific Job Skills:
  • Ability to approach complex, ambiguous data challenges systematically. You can diagnose the problem, come up with a plan to address it, and see that plan through.
  • Experience owning data integrity, ensuring that data is reliable, timely, and traceable from source to consumption.
  • Familiarity with creating and maintaining analytic semantic layers and business intelligence dashboard such as Looker, PowerBI, Tableau, etc.
  • Experience working with database and data warehouse technologies such as Postgres, Bigquery, and Redshift.
  • Experience with cloud services such as AWS, Azure, GCP.
  • A fast learner who is excited to build analytic dashboards and modernize our data pipeline.
  • Experience with git and other command-line tools.
  • Clearly articulate complex technical issues to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Preferred Skills:
  • Experience in working with large slow changing dimension data models.
  • Experience in the US healthcare system, in particular with health systems or payers.
  • Knowledge of data pipeline concepts and data modeling.
  • Experience with ETL pipelines for analytics.
  • Proficiency in leveraging AI agents and other AI tools to significantly enhance developer productivity.

Education: BS Degree or equivalent work experience
