A Contract Legal Assistant is a professional who provides legal support services to attorneys and law firms on a contractual or temporary basis. Unlike full-time legal assistants, contract legal assistants are usually hired for specific projects or periods, offering flexibility to both the assistant and the employer. Many contract legal assistants work through staffing agencies or as independent contractors.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a contract legal assistant?
