Job description

Inventory Auditor – Contract-to-Hire

Location: Austin, TX (Ideal home base: Austin, TX 78744 within 30-mile radius)
Pay: $20.00/hour (Overtime Eligible After 40 Hours)
Schedule: Monday-Friday

Travel & Start Time Expectations:
You must be comfortable with daily travel within a 2.5-hour radius of Austin, TX. This position requires you to be on-site by 6:00 AM, which may require waking up as early as 3:30 AM, depending on the assigned location. Locations are provided well in advance via the schedule.

  • Average 12.90 travel hours per week
  • Average 22.89 in-store hours per week
  • Average 480.48 miles per week
  • Percentage Time Working Alone: 0%
  • Commute time over 30 minutes is paid at the hourly rate
  • Mileage reimbursement provided (per division guidelines)
  • Must use your own reliable vehicle, maintain valid driver’s license and active auto insurance

A national inventory services company with over 50 years of industry experience is seeking an Inventory Auditor to perform physical inventory audits at gas stations and convenience stores throughout the regional territory.

What You’ll Do

  • Perform physical inventory counts using a 10-key machine
  • Work alongside audit team members during inventory events
  • Review results and provide end-of-audit reports to store managers
  • Identify and resolve inventory discrepancies on-site
  • Coordinate daily travel logistics as scheduled
  • Submit required audit documentation and reports
  • Work in varied environments including sales floors, stockrooms, coolers, and freezer

What You Bring

  • Experience in inventory, auditing, retail operations, or other field-based roles
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy
  • Comfort working in fast-paced, structured field environments
  • Ability to work independently while interacting professionally with clients
  • Ability to lift up to 25 lbs and remain on your feet for extended periods
  • Ability to pass background and motor vehicle checks
