Job description

Consequential Work. Dedicated People.
About Onebrief
Onebrief builds collaboration and AI-powered workflow software for military planning and operational coordination.
Today, many critical planning workflows still rely on fragmented systems, static documents, and disconnected tools that make collaboration and decision-making unnecessarily difficult. Onebrief brings modern software, AI, and real-time collaboration into those environments, helping teams operate with greater clarity, coordination, and adaptability in situations where decisions carry real-world consequences.
We are a distributed team of builders from military, operational, and technology backgrounds who care deeply about improving how important work gets done. Some team members work remotely, while others work directly alongside customers in operational environments around the world.
Founded in 2019, Onebrief is backed by leading investors including General Catalyst, Battery Ventures, Insight Partners, Sapphire Ventures, and Human Capital. Valued at more than $2 billion, we continue to invest in product innovation, AI capabilities, and team growth.
Why This Role Exist
Onebrief's strategic government initiatives require experienced contract professionals who can help ensure complex contractual commitments are executed effectively throughout the life of each program. As our portfolio continues to grow, we are expanding our contracts organization to provide dedicated support to the programs that have the greatest strategic importance to the company.
This role partners closely with the Senior Manager of Strategic Contract Initiatives to administer a portfolio of complex government contracts while working alongside Program Management, Customer Success, Finance, Legal, and government stakeholders. You'll help ensure contract actions are executed efficiently, risks are identified early, contractual documentation remains current, and internal teams have the guidance they need to successfully deliver for our customers.
Success in this role means contractual issues are proactively managed, stakeholders remain informed, government relationships remain strong, and the administrative execution supporting our most important initiatives operates with consistency and excellence.
About You
You are a collaborative and detail-oriented contracts professional who enjoys partnering with cross-functional teams to help complex government programs execute successfully. You understand that effective contract management is more than ensuring compliance-it requires strong communication, sound judgment, proactive risk management, and the ability to keep multiple stakeholders aligned around successful outcomes.
You have experience administering complex federal government contracts throughout the post-award lifecycle and understand how contractual requirements intersect with program execution, customer relationships, financial performance, and operational delivery. You build credibility by anticipating issues, maintaining organized documentation, and helping teams navigate contractual obligations before they become program challenges.
You communicate confidently with internal stakeholders, government customers, and industry partners. Whether you're coordinating contract actions, documenting performance matters, preparing formal correspondence, or supporting negotiations and modifications, you approach your work with professionalism, ownership, and attention to detail.
You thrive in fast-moving environments where priorities evolve and multiple initiatives compete for attention. You're highly organized, capable of managing several contract actions simultaneously, and comfortable working independently while knowing when to elevate risks or seek guidance.
Most importantly, you see yourself as a business partner-not simply a contract administrator. You understand that your work enables successful customer outcomes, protects the company, and helps Onebrief deliver critical capabilities to mission partners.
What You'll Do
  • Independently administer a portfolio of complex federal government contracts supporting Onebrief's strategic initiatives throughout the post-award lifecycle.
  • Partner with Program Management, Customer Success, Finance, Legal, and other cross-functional teams to ensure contractual obligations remain aligned with program execution and customer commitments.
  • Prepare, coordinate, and maintain contract modifications, correspondence, deliverables, notifications, contract files, and other required documentation.
  • Identify contractual risks, performance concerns, and compliance issues early, while developing recommendations and escalating matters appropriately.
  • Support customer communications and government interactions by preparing documentation, coordinating responses, and ensuring contractual positions are clearly communicated.
  • Maintain accurate contract records, reporting, and internal tracking to provide visibility into contract status, milestones, obligations, and upcoming actions.
  • Contribute to the continuous improvement of contract management processes, templates, playbooks, and operational workflows that improve consistency across the organization.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent professional experience.
  • 7-10 years of progressive experience administering U.S. Government contracts and/ commercial contracts.
  • Demonstrated experience supporting pre-award negotiations and managing post-award contract execution.
  • Working knowledge of federal acquisition regulations, contract modifications, funding actions, deliverables, and contract administration practices.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to communicate effectively across technical, operational, and executive audiences.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. Government security clearance (U.S. citizenship required).
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience supporting commercial software, SaaS, or technology companies serving the U.S. Government.
  • Previous experience as a Government Contract Specialist, Contracting Officer Representative (COR), or acquisition professional.
  • Experience supporting OTAs, prototype efforts, software licensing, or non-traditional acquisition approaches.
  • Experience working within Salesforce, CLM platforms, or other contract lifecycle management systems.
Indicators of Success
A successful Contract Manager will:
  • Independently manage a portfolio of complex contracts with minimal day-to-day oversight.
  • Establish trusted working relationships with Program Management, Customer Success, and government stakeholders.
  • Ensure contract actions, deliverables, modifications, and correspondence are completed accurately and on time.
  • Identify and communicate contractual risks early, allowing issues to be resolved before they impact customer success or program execution.
  • Improve the consistency, visibility, and operational discipline of contract management across Onebrief's strategic initiatives.
