Job description

At CAE, we are seeking a Manager, Courseware Standards & Innovation who will lead the development and governance of courseware standards, templates, and workflows to ensure consistency, efficiency, and quality across all training products. This role drives innovation by introducing new tools, technologies, and methodologies that enhance instructional design and learner engagement. Acting as the central authority for courseware quality systems, this role enables scalable, compliant, and high-quality production processes.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILTIES

  • Develop and maintain standardized courseware templates, development workflows, and production guidelines to ensure consistency and efficiency across teams.
  • Create and enforce quality assurance checklists and review processes for instructional design and media development.
  • Define best practices for learning objectives, assessments, and content structure to ensure pedagogical integrity.
  • Research and implement emerging tools, technologies, and methodologies to modernize courseware and improve learner experience.
  • Partner with the courseware development pod resources to embed standards and innovation into daily workflows.
  • Monitor industry trends, learner feedback, and performance data to refine standards and introduce new approaches.

QUALIFICATIONS AND EDUCATION

  • Bachelor's/Master's in Instructional Design, Learning Sciences, Educational Technology, or HCI; ID certifications (e.g., ATD, eLearning Guild) beneficial
  • 8-12 years in L&D/courseware; 3-5 leading standards/templates/workflows.

SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

Core & Functional Skills

  • Template architecture (storyboards, scripts, media specs)
  • Workflow design & process mapping (from intake to deployment)
  • Quality systems (checklists, peer reviews, QA sign-off)
  • Instructional design standards (objectives, assessments, sequencing)
  • Innovation scouting (tools, methodologies, pilots, A/B tests)
  • Strong proficiency in English is required for this role
  • Ability to travel up to 25% as needed.

  • Authoring: Articulate 360, Captivate, Rise, Lectora, iSpring

Le role favorise l'innovation en introduisant de nouveaux outils, technologies et methodologies visant a ameliorer la conception pedagogique et l'engagement des apprenants. En tant qu'autorite centrale des systemes de qualite des supports pedagogiques, ce poste permet des processus de production evolutifs, conformes et de haute qualite. Les principales responsabilites incluent :
  • Developper et maintenir des modeles standardises de supports pedagogiques, des flux de travail de developpement et des lignes directrices de production afin d'assurer la coherence et l'efficacite entre les equipes
  • Creer et appliquer des listes de controle d'assurance qualite ainsi que des processus de revue pour la conception pedagogique et le developpement des medias
  • Definir les meilleures pratiques relatives aux objectifs pedagogiques, aux evaluations et a la structuration des contenus afin de garantir l'integrite pedagogique
  • Rechercher et mettre en uvre des outils, technologies et methodologies emergents pour moderniser les supports de formation et ameliorer l'experience apprenant
  • Collaborer avec les equipes de developpement des supports pedagogiques (pods) afin d'integrer les normes et l'innovation dans les processus operationnels quotidiens
  • Suivre les tendances du secteur, les retours des apprenants et les donnees de performance afin d'ameliorer les normes existantes et d'introduire de nouvelles approches
Qualifications minimales
  • Diplome de licence ou de master en ingenierie pedagogique, sciences de l'apprentissage, technologies educatives ou interaction homme-machine (HCI)
  • 8 a 12 ans d'experience dans le domaine de la formation, du developpement des apprentissages (L&D) ou des supports pedagogiques
  • 3 a 5 ans d'experience dans la definition ou la gestion de normes, de modeles et/ou de flux de travail de production
  • Maitrise des standards de conception pedagogique (objectifs, evaluations, sequencement des contenus)
  • Experience en conception de flux de travail et en cartographie de processus, de la demande initiale jusqu'au deploiement
  • Experience des systemes qualite (listes de controle, revues par les pairs, validation QA)
  • Maitrise des outils de creation de contenus pedagogiques (Articulate 360, Captivate, Rise, Lectora, iSpring)
  • Experience avec les outils medias et graphiques (Adobe Creative Cloud, Figma)
  • Connaissance des standards LMS et de conformite (SCORM 1.2/2004, xAPI)
  • Experience avec les outils de documentation et de procedures (Teams, SharePoint)
