Job description

Industrial Engineering Manager

Value Driven Solutions (VDS) is looking for an Industrial Engineering Manager to join our interim executive bench, with this engagement deploying on-site at our PE-backed manufacturing client in the [Location] region. The Industrial Engineering Manager will be the architect of the operating system at the client — labor standards, line balancing, layout, capacity modeling, and the data infrastructure that supports decision-making — and will quantify the opportunity that drives the value-creation plan.

The ideal candidate will enjoy quantifying operational opportunity and have the ability to dig into time, motion, and flow data, weigh layout and automation options, and deliver the best possible productivity and cost outcome. The ideal candidate will apply their command of time study, simulation, and capacity modeling and communicate effectively with operators, finance, and capital planners.

Responsibilities:

  • IE leadership – Lead a team of industrial engineers across multiple value streams or sites. Develop and maintain labor standards, takt analysis, and line-balancing models.
  • Operations modeling – Lead facility layout, value-stream mapping, and material flow design. Build capacity models and bottleneck analyses to support S&OP and capital planning. Partner with Finance to translate IE work into standard cost and conversion cost.
  • Productivity engineering – Lead time studies, motion analysis, and ergonomic assessments. Drive automation feasibility, ROI modeling, and post-implementation verification.

Requirements:

  • 10+ years of industrial engineering experience with 3+ years managing IEs
  • Strong fluency in time study, MOST or MTM, line balancing, and capacity modeling
  • Advanced Excel and process simulation tools (e.g., FlexSim, Simio, AnyLogic, Arena)
  • Documented productivity improvement track record
  • Bachelor's degree in Industrial or Manufacturing Engineering
  • Lean Six Sigma Black Belt preferred
  • Power BI / Tableau / SQL fluency for operational analytics; prior consulting experience a plus
