Regular and predictable attendance is required.

Boeing is seeking a qualified Contract Industrial Engineer to support aerospace production and operations at Kennedy Space Center, Florida. This position is responsible for applying industrial engineering principles to improve efficiency, optimize workflows, support production planning, and identify opportunities to enhance process performance in a highly regulated, mission‑driven environment. We are looking for candidates with strong industrial engineering fundamentals and experience improving operational performance in a technical aerospace environment. The selected candidate will work closely with engineering, production, quality, and operations teams to support safe, compliant, and efficient execution of aerospace work. This position will be 2nd or 3rd shift.

Key Responsibilities
  • Analyze production and operational processes to identify opportunities for improvement in efficiency, flow, cost, and quality.
  • Develop, evaluate, and improve manufacturing and support processes, work methods, and resource utilization.
  • Support production planning, workload balancing, line flow analysis, and capacity assessments.
  • Assist with time studies, process mapping, and standard work development.
  • Evaluate data to identify bottlenecks, constraints, and opportunities for lean improvements.
  • Support implementation of process changes, work instructions, and operational improvements.
  • Coordinate with cross‑functional teams to resolve process issues and improve execution.
  • Support planning and reporting activities related to schedule adherence, productivity, and operational performance.
  • Assist in development of layouts, tooling requirements, and facility/process optimization recommendations as needed.
  • Use data‑driven methods to support decision‑making, continuous improvement, and operational effectiveness.
  • Participate in root cause analysis and corrective action efforts related to process inefficiencies or production issues.
  • Generate Aurora models to support production planning and schedule analysis.
  • Develop precedence networks to sequence work activities and evaluate schedule dependencies.
  • Develop and maintain production schedules in support of program execution and operational planning.
Required Skills
  • Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology (including Manufacturing Technology), Computer Science, Data Science, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, or non‑US equivalent qualifications directly related to the work statement.
  • Experience in industrial engineering, manufacturing engineering, production support, or operations improvement.
  • Experience supporting NASA programs, Aerospace, or high volume production programs.
  • Experience analyzing processes, workflows, or production systems.
  • Experience using data to support process improvement, planning, or decision‑making.
  • Experience generating Aurora models.
  • Experience developing precedence networks and production schedules.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain required site access and any applicable background screening or security requirements.
Preferred Skills
  • Familiarity with lean manufacturing, Six Sigma, value stream mapping, or continuous improvement methods.
  • Experience supporting a dynamic production and operations environment.
  • Experience with production planning, capacity analysis, or workload balancing.
  • Knowledge of aerospace manufacturing or launch operations environments.
