Minimum qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance, or equivalent practical experience.
  • Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or Chartered Accountant (CA).
  • 14 years of experience in accounting or a related function, or 10 years with an advanced degree in accounting, business, or finance.
  • Experience in revenue recognition (ASC 606) and US GAAP, specifically revenue recognition principles and their application within the technology industry.
  • Experience building, developing, or leading a team.

Preferred qualifications:
  • Ability to work in a cross-functional, fast-paced environment, and to support operational initiatives.
  • Ability to have a collaborative style and work with cross-functional and international teams.
  • Ability to sponsor and oversee the management of a portfolio of projects and programs.

Responsibilities
  • Lead a team of technical accountants who serve as strategic partners to the business, providing proactive support and influence contract negotiations from the early stages, ensuring that agreements are optimized for financial reporting outcomes.
  • Deliver cross-functional effort to deliver high-impact system and business process transformations, including the development of AI-driven guided contract review tools to automate and scale technical accounting reviews while maintaining a control environment for Google Cloud's commercial contracts.
  • Combine technical accounting and commercial understanding with well-honed problem-solving, influence and a flexible work style to support multiple high-priority, high-visibility areas.
  • Expand and lead networks of business and professional leaders in the Enterprise space to collect Accounting best practices and benchmarks and use this knowledge to provide compelling insights to executive leaders and cross-functional partners.
