Minimum qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance, or equivalent practical experience.
  • Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or Chartered Accountant (CA).
  • 10 years of experience in accounting or a related function, or 8 years with with an advanced degree in accounting, business, or finance.
  • Experience in Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP), with a focus on Revenue (ASC 606) Accounting in a public accounting or multinational company setting.

Preferred qualifications:
  • Professional experience in tech-industry business recognition with strong technical accounting skills, including a deep understanding of US GAAP.
  • Demonstrated collaborative style with the ability to partner effectively across, international teams and global business functions.
  • Ability to work separately, demonstrate initiative, own projects end-to-end, and lead others (direct or indirect) to deliver high-quality work under tight deadlines.

You'll advise on financial reports required by governmental regulations, and review, analyze, and interpret financial and budgetary reports. You move fast while keeping your attention to detail, and you tap into your problem-solving skills to support business objectives.
You'll lead an accounting process from end-to-end. Other responsibilities include reconciling balance sheets and P&L accounts, and providing supplementary financial information for internal and external reports.
In this role, within the Google Cloud Controllership you will serve as an architect and financial guardian. Leveraging deep technical expertise, you will partner with the business to enable commercial outcomes, manage end-to-end accounting for significant global customers, and ensure Google Cloud grows safely, efficiently, and scalably.

Responsibilities
  • Conduct comprehensive reviews of cloud commit agreements to ensure precise business recognition under US GAAP and ASC 606, while proactively influencing agreement structures during negotiations to optimize financial terms.
  • Evaluate customer agreements and document technical business assessments, including relative standalone selling price analyses, to maintain accounting standards.
  • Serve as a executive advisor and subject matter expert, guiding cross-functional colleagues through intricate technical issues and helping refine their professional and accounting skills.
  • Identify and leverage technology to automate and scale internal operations, actively supporting initiatives like the development and implementation of a guided agreement review tool.
  • Partner with global, international teams to implement process efficiencies based on business feedback, anticipating and removing operational roadblocks to meet deadlines.
