Job description

Role-Unity Developer
Location: Orlando, Florida (Onsite)
Duration: 2 month contract

Key Responsibilities
  • Design, develop, test, and maintain immersive VR/XR training applications using the Unity game engine and C#.
  • Develop interactive systems, user interfaces, simulations, training scenarios, and application functionality based on defined project requirements.
  • Implement VR/XR interactions including object manipulation, locomotion, input systems, and immersive user experiences.
  • Develop reusable, modular, and maintainable code and systems that can support multiple projects.
  • Integrate 3D assets, animations, audio, visual effects, and user interfaces into Unity applications.
  • Profile, troubleshoot, and optimize Unity applications to maintain performance and stability across target hardware.
  • Collaborate with project managers, developers, 3D artists, instructional designers, and other stakeholders throughout the development lifecycle.
  • Translate functional, technical, and training requirements into effective Unity-based solutions.
Required Qualifications
  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Game Development, or a related technical field, or an equivalent combination of education and professional experience.
  • Experience: Professional experience developing applications using Unity and experience developing real-time 3D applications for VR, XR, AR, or other immersive platforms.
  • Technical Skills: Strong proficiency in C# and object-oriented programming.
  • Technical Skills: Strong understanding of Unity architecture, including scenes, prefabs, components, physics, animation, UI, and input systems.
  • Technical Skills: Experience profiling, debugging, and optimizing Unity applications.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience developing immersive training or simulation applications.
  • Experience with OpenXR and common VR/XR SDKs and hardware platforms.
  • Experience with Meta Quest or other standalone/head-mounted VR platforms.
  • Experience developing multiplayer or networked immersive applications.
  • Knowledge of shaders, materials, lighting, rendering pipelines, and graphics optimization.
  • Experience with Git or similar version-control platforms.
  • Familiarity with Agile/Scrum development environments and tools such as Jira.
  • Experience working on government, aerospace, defense, or other regulated customer projects.

This position operates in a collaborative development environment and may require regular use and testing of VR/XR headsets and related immersive technology. The role requires extended periods of computer-based development and may involve participation in customer demonstrations, project reviews, and testing sessions.
