Job Description
Title: RN - Progressive Care Unit
Schedule: Nights
Requirements:
- Minimum of 2 years of RN experience required
- Previous charge experience preferred
- Required certifications: BLS, ACLS; NIHSS preferred
- Valid compact or state RN license required at submission
- Epic experience required
- Core clinical skills: IV start/maintenance, cardiac telemetry monitoring and dysrhythmia recognition, ABG interpretation, oxygen delivery, tracheostomy care, blood product administration, phlebotomy, pre/post hemodialysis care, familiarity with vasoactive/cardiac drips (no titration)
Roles & Responsibilities:
- Provide nursing care to adult and geriatric patients in a progressive care unit or step-down setting
- Monitor patient conditions and administer medications and treatments as prescribed
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to coordinate patient care
- Perform and interpret diagnostic tests and procedures
- Educate patients and their families on health management and disease prevention
Compliance / Notes:
- May be required to float to other facilities and to units of equivalent or lower acuity
- Weekend shifts may be assigned as needed
- Orientation approximately 36 hours
- Pre-approved time off: two days (per contract)
- Flu vaccine required; medical exemptions only; COVID-19 vaccine not required
- Ohio fingerprinting must be completed immediately after booking
- Reference requirement: two professional references (one from a manager/director)
