About This Role

The RN - Forensic Nursing/SANE position at Cleveland Clinic's Fairview Hospital involves providing specialized care for individuals who have experienced violence, including sexual assault and abuse. This role is ideal for nurses who are dedicated to supporting vulnerable populations and are skilled in forensic nursing practices.

  • Pay: $45.00/hour
  • Location: Cleveland, OH
  • Facility: Fairview Hospital
  • Schedule: Per Diem, Night shift
What Youโ€™ll Do
  • Collect forensic evidence and/or forensic photography as requested and maintain a chain of custody for such evidence.
  • Provide enhanced follow-up services, resources, and safety plans before patient discharge.
  • Perform speculum exams and/or pediatric assessments under the supervision of a LIP.
  • Utilize knowledge on collecting and managing forensic evidence with SAEC and DFSA kits.
  • Interact and collaborate with medical and nursing staff, law enforcement, and other agencies as needed.
  • Provide court testimony as needed.
  • Participate in an on-call schedule and respond to the designated facility within one hour.
  • Participate in community awareness programs and professional organizations.
  • Travel to other Cleveland Clinic Facilities as needed.
Requirements

Education:

  • Complete an IAFN approved SANE Adolescent/Adult course within 60 days of hire.
  • Complete an IAFN approved SANE Pediatric course within 1 year of hire for incumbents hired after April 1, 2018.

Experience:

  • One year of recent RN work experience.

Licenses & Certifications:

  • Current state licensure as Registered Nurse (RN).
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) through the American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Bachelorโ€™s of Science in Nursing (BSN).
  • Trauma, Womenโ€™s Health, or Pediatric experience.
