About the Role | Team Walmart is seeking a Staff Software Engineer to design, develop, and maintain scalable software solutions that align with business objectives. This role involves analyzing requirements, creating detailed designs, and implementing high-quality code while ensuring security and performance standards. The successful candidate will collaborate across teams to drive continuous improvement, support testing and deployment processes, and address technical challenges. Expertise in modern programming languages, frameworks, and cloud platforms is essential to deliver innovative, reliable applications that meet evolving customer and operational needs within an agile environment.  The EBS Accounts Receivable Engineering team is dedicated to developing a next-generation platform that supports Accounts Receivable and Vendor Allowances in alignment with the Global Vendor Allowance policy. Utilizing a modern technology stack, the team focuses on delivering accurate calculations, documentation, and verification of allowance agreements. This platform enhances efficiency, stability, and scalability while reducing redundant maintenance across market applications. The team values technical excellence and innovation to build scalable, reliable solutions that meet business needs and support continuous improvement in financial operations.  What You'll Do
  • Analyze and classify software requirements, ensuring alignment with business objectives and technical needs.
  • Lead the design of scalable, secure, and maintainable software components based on high-level architecture and detailed specifications.
  • Design, develop, and maintain enterprise-grade applications adhering to industry best practices, leveraging Java, Spring Boot, and React.js within a microservices architecture hosted on cloud environments such as Azure.
  • Build software solutions deployed through a zero-click CI/CD process ensuring reliability and automation.
  • Provides technical leadership and mentorship to engineers and guide engineers to adopt engineering best practices, conduct/lead design & code reviews, and ensure alignment with the Fintech Architecture vision.
  • Collaborate with cross functional teams including business, product and other software engineers to understand the business problems, review business requirements, draft technical requirements, scope, design, develop, test, and deploy services and systems.
  • Be the role model and exemplary practitioner in the team, and establish mechanisms (design reviews, code reviews, OE reviews, root cause analysis, etc.)  to ensure high quality, high availability, scalable and performant systems are delivered. Advocate the use of latest technology and system integration patterns, cutting across team boundaries.
What You'll Bring
  • 10+ years of experience in software design, development and technical architecture focusing on building large scale complex distributed systems.
  • Demonstrated end-to-end ownership from inception to launch of multiple complex and ambiguous projects.
  • Proficient in working with multiple tech stack – Java, Kubernetes, Spring Boot, Restful API, React, Kafka, RDBMS, NoSQL, etc.
  • Hands-on experience with cloud technologies including Azure, and GCP for application deployment, monitoring, and automation.
  • Advanced knowledge of complex software design, distributed system design, design patterns, data structures, and algorithms.
  • Expertise in Service-Oriented Architecture (SOA) design principles, ensuring modularity, reusability, and seamless system integration.
  • Ability to design and implement software solutions adhering to coding standards and security best practices.
  • Experience in test strategy development, automation and continuous integration/continuous delivery (CI/CD) pipelines.
  • Strong analytical skills for requirement scoping, risk assessment and solution design aligned with business objectives.
  • Effective communication and collaboration skills, including consensus building, conflict resolution, influence and persuasion skills.
  • Mentoring/coaching junior engineers in technical problem solving and career advancement.
