Job description

We are seeking a detailed-oriented and experienced controller to join out team. MUST HAVE SUBCONTRACTOR COMMERCIAL CONSTRUCTION INDUSTRY EXPERIENCE! All other need not apply. We are searching for the right person to work hand in hand with our controller, to transition to the position of controller within the next 6 months. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in supporting the financial operations of the organization, ensuring accurate financial reporting, and maintaining compliance with accounting standards. This position requires strong analytical skills and proficiency with accounting software, making it essential for the successful management of financial records. Tyler Service Solutions is a commercial construction contractor that provides plumbing and HVAC installation services in the DMV area.
Responsibilities Include
  • Working along with our staff to manage our accounting processes and general ledger and ensure income and expenses are properly allocated and accounts properly reconciled
  • making necessary journal entries and preparing timely, accurate financial statement using Timberline/Sage 300
  • Primary responsibility for contract and job cost accounting on percentage of completion basis, including preparation of monthly AIA invoices
  • Cash Flow management, reporting, and projections
  • Maintaining banking relationships
  • Preparing financial budgets and projection and working closely with the company management to plan for and manage growth
  • overseeing the in-house payroll function and/or assist us with outsourcing
Requirements
  • Minimum of 7 years of on-the-job accounting experience in the commercial construction industry
  • Minimum of 5 years of Timberline/Sage 300 software
  • Full understanding of financial statements preparation
  • Ability to multi-task and successfully manage a small staff
  • Ability to work independtly, foster a team environment, remail flexible and work in a fast-paced changing environment
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • This is a job that requires you to be in our Urbana office daily for work
